Predict the penalty for Childress?
That should be Wollongong, not Adelaide. Got their double-header weekend mixed up.

"So, I am just asking what the message is here?"
Adelaide need help selling tickets, Cairns don't?

Tribunal have done their job, or have they?
One week suspended sentence places additional onus on him not to do something like this again, fair enough.
The fine isn't going to hurt I don't think, but the NBL isn't known for its big fines either.
One week ban is interesting, I will explain...
I know this is the NBL, I also know this guy is potential NBA material again too, however if a junior in let's say the VJBL (because I know this competition and how it is officiated) did something like this the kid would have no way got away with one week.
I suspect any junior doing something like this would have been charged with several offences and probably would have missed months.
So, I am just asking what the message is here?

Oh well it's been dealt with now , time to move on . I'll be looking forward to the rematch in 3 weeks time :) hopefully it brings in a massive crowd to sydney :)

Anon #0226 Maybe not directly but the comment was generalizing a countries population. Maybe Prejudice was the better term. Even so...you would be a moron yourself if you couldn't figure out the point i was making.
And like i said " Vilifying an entire country based on a few of it's citizens is as guilty as the accusation you make "

Personally think he should be dropped for the whole season send him back to USA , what sort of example is he setting for young kids watching this sport. he has anger management issues which have no place in sport at all.
don't buy the brain snap, he was just pissed off, he's lucky he didn't hurt him badly

King James : Totally see your point there. He could use a little more common sense when it comes to Twitter lol.
There was an article on SMH about the Twitter abuse.... might be even more attention for the trolls

Anon #0178 - That's a racist comment right there. Not all Australians are racist. Vilifying an entire country based on a few of it's citizens is as guilty as the accusation you make.

Curtley : I saw that and I'm disgusted on some of the comments made towards him. He did wrong, I don't condone what he did...but he doesn't deserve those comments. Times like that I despise social media.

What I am bracing for is a flurry of ridiculous comments about how the NBL is teamed up with the Perth Wildcats and it will somewhat favour the decision against Childress. Careful the aliens are amongst us . #conspiracy

Going on past tribunals, a suspended sentence will be the result.

I definitely reckon the NBL should give a bigger fine and less games. Something like 2 games and $5,000. Gives the NBL pocket change and doesn't keep one of the leagues most exciting players out for long.

Im not sure if he will get that long. I think the charge for bringing the game into disrepute will get dropped, he may get 2-3 games for unduly rough play and 1-2 games for 1-2 for striking with an elbow. I imagine some of those games will be a suspended penalty so maybe 3-4 games with him only missing a couple of games. But that's just a wild guess

Reports are in that Dallas Maverick Jason Terry has won the NBA 6th man of the year award.

Quoting the Dallas Morning News, ESPN reports that:
"The newspaper reported the story Wednesday on its Web site. Terry is expected to receive the award at a news conference Friday."
