Basketball develops skills for AFL-Clarkson
Agree wholeheartedly with this and have said it to many parents who want to start their little ones in the game.
You see it as a coach all the time, parents of boys in particular are keen for these skills to develop, then when they ultimately do go off and play football their skill set is improved from early hoops coaching.
Never goes the other way though, as the skill set for basketball is too great an obstacle for older kids to pick up, but certainly basketball is a fantastic option for kids to learn those fundamental skills early on...
