Shame he can't coach would be more to the point.

A sloppy second half from Melbourne United has hurt possibly their biggest chance of the season to solidify their playoff spot after their 81-69 defeat at the hands of the Townsville Crocodiles on Sunday night.
Despite leading by as much as ten points during the second quarter, Melbourne once again came to an abrupt halt in the final half to register just 29 points.
It was night that was made for Todd Blanchfield who posted a career high 27 points to go along with 13 rebounds and two steals.
Disappointing Melbourne stood up by Crocs

Melbourne tigers ( Lindsay) refused to join the NBL in 1978 as Lindsay Gaze ( who was the then GM of the VBA) wanted to focus on the VBA as the premier basketball competition in Australia. He actively worked against the competition for the first 3 years - and then the others did not really want him in when he changed his mind.
Only St Kilda and Nunawading jumped in straight away in '78/79, Coburg fought to get in for the second season in 1980 and even Geelong in '82 and Frankstown in '83 jumped in before Lindsay could bring himself to say he was wrong and get the tigers in in 1984.
not sorry personally to see tigers history diminished, but that's just me.

^^ +1 .... I don't care what anyone says.... United evolved ( de-evolved depending on your view) from the Tigers .... To not acknowledge them during heritage week is a slap in the face to the history of the club. I feel for the likes or Copes, Gaze(s) Bradtke, Simmons etc who never got a mention. During the broadcast of the Crocs V Cats game they acknowledged some of the great performances and players of both the Suns and Crocs era... This should of been done with United/Tigers also

And.....I'm just saying we have to keep winning if we want to make that 4. Easier said than done though.

'United' hit by the karma bus while living the lie during Heritage round!
The usual game introduction ending in 'respect' noted all Victorian clubs that had played previously in the NBL. But does it mean some are respected more than others if you're happy to hang the Tigers championship banners and retired singlets of Tiger players, however similar artifacts from all those other respected clubs aren't on display.
Sorry United, either your heritage is the Tigers or all former Victorian clubs, you can't have it both ways.

No Walker, but McRae the danger man. Crocs needed Friday night for confidence.
I'm hoping for Crocs, but realistically United have too many weapons of choice

United by 6
