Nick Marvin speaks - discusses Crocs, Asia & more
Marvin is saying what's true, NBL propping up unfinacial clubs.
Like Lawsy says "Townsville can not fill a 2000 seat rsl Piss em off - bring in brisbane, end of story"
It's called getting rid of the dead wood.

The issue its coming down to is . or at least it appears to be the rent each of these individual stadiums/arenas/other are charging these teams. This should be something the NBL itself as the provider of the competition should be handling imo. They should be the ones out negotiating with the stadium owners. Not the teams themselves.

Let's hope the local guys are in for the long haul and not just for a 1 year saviour type deal, or the club will be back to the same posi next year.
Being a Cats fan i know how lucky we have been, we've always seemed to have a wealthy backer help us since our play off run has started. From Kerry Stokes and Bob Williams to Luc Longley and now Bendat, we have been blessed.

Good news if the Crocs can survive imo, these business men stepping up is exactly what was needed after the NBL had said they were not going to prop it up anymore.
Hopefully they can keep the Crocs and Hawks and get Brisbane up and move forward with a 9 team league next season,
re-jig things slightly, maybe the league could work with clubs to ensure they budget properly, i like Isaacs suggestion in his model of a $500k salary cap to keep it affordable, maybe something around $750k which is what Cairns are rumoured to have spent on last years GF team is a good mid point and would at the very least make it a bit more affordable to run a NBL club.
Heres hoping this all helps the Crocs survive and its good news for the NBL for now on.

"The people I know from TSV (several) that used to religiously go to every game have been over it for years, once management got them off-side."
exactly what I have been hearing from the Townsville fans over the past few years.
"Hey mystro, do you know why rillie and homicide were cut ? Maybe because of the ridiculous amounts of money they and their managers wanted to play on."
I'm sure NZ paid Rillie millions for his season here on our bench and maybe it was worth the money to Townsville to keep the fans who keep the club afloat happy?

"I have not seen one post on a forum from a Crocs supporter"
Just curious, are there any die-hard Crocs fans on this forum?
The question should be does Townsville actually want an NBL team anymore? The people I know from TSV (several) that used to religiously go to every game have been over it for years, once management got them off-side.

I think Marvin's been getting tact lessons from Tony Abbott - doesn't matter if your point is valid if you're coming across like a bit of a dick.

"Yes, the huge unemployment rate is all the Crocs management's fault."
I have not seen one post on a forum from a Crocs supporter saying they will not support the team due to their own personal financial difficulties, a lot of disharmony goes back to when Rillie & Homicide were cut who were very strong club personalities.

Townsville were once one of the best supported franchises in the league but now struggle to fill a second rate shed, how is this the leagues fault?
The blame rest squarely with the franchise management and their poor decision making.

32 Points, 10 Rebound, 13 Assist Triple Double in Pioneers 3 pt win at the Icehouse last night.
Is Dallas currently on a 2 year deal?
