Right place, right time, huge amount of guts and determination with a never say die attitude, in addition to having some ability and displaying it when that opportunity arrives.

Placing yourself in a position to fail while giving yourself every chance to get noticed in a foreign country. Often supporting yourself and living on a shoe string, always hoping you don't pick up an illness or injury.

Traveling to where you may be best placed to take advantage of a small window when it presents itself and doing it over and over until you either make it or try something else!

Sounds too easy, doesn't it... :)
