Recognition can be subjective and opportunity for some is not as equal as it is for others, however I believe true recognition of the potential of a junior basketballer usually begins in the under 14 top age to under 16 age groups.
Hasn't been much talk about the Rookie of the Year award this year and I'm not too sure who is and isn't eligible but I'd think these are the candidates (slim pickings this year):
Timmy Coenraad
Jesse Wagstaff
Kerry Williams?
Tom Abercrombie?
Daniel Johnson?
Al Pledger
Cory Webster
Williams, Abercrombie and Johnson were all DP's last year I think.
Pledger and Webster are only a chance if NZ get a few injuries (eg. Penney).
Have I missed anyone or should any of them not be there?
It's hardly worth having an award from that list but if I have to I'll pick Coenraad.
