NBL 15/16 fixtures released
Perth Scorchers sell out every game in the big bash. But yeah your right, it's full of kids and families.

Actually A there were many sub 20k games.
There were 6 in the 1st two rounds with 3 sub 13k

Having games broadcast midweek could potentially draw new fans to the game. If your a sports lover, there is really no other live Australian sports broadcasts during the week.
When i was 15 i remember tuning into the NBL 1993 finals series on channel 10 and watched my first ever game of basketball. Have been hooked since.
Would much rather watch sport than one of the thousand reality TV cooking or renovation shows on TV.

A & Matthew - Obviously you're not a working family or have children. Otherwise you would understand it takes 1h 20mins to get to city in peak hour traffic on working day. 20 minutes to find parking for $30. Stay til 9.30pm, then another hour to get home at 10.30pm. Kids will be in bed at 11.30 pm. Obviously the new brand of basketball is not targeted to working families or children. If they can't get a TV deal as well, the new brand does not look good. PS. Sydney and Wollongong have nearly 50 % home games midweek, whilst Perth have 2, and United a couple. Work that one out.

A & Matthew - Smart arseness aside, Fri, Sat and Sun games are actually pretty well attended and I think improved last season, actually... Hopefully with an improved roster, the early home games will help, but the thing a lot of fans of other teams can't appreciate, quite apart from battling the ingrained NRL tribal mentality that has festered in this city for so many years, is that fans are so widely spread that it takes such a bollocks amount of time to get into the city at the best of times, let alone at peak time in the middle of the week, once work and school commitments have been completed...
I'll be in front row centre, I don't care how far I have to drive, but dragging the family in for a 60-90min trip into the city, struggling to find parking especially with the tearing down of the Entertainment centre car park to get in with enough time to have dinner before the game and then leaving at the earliest by 9:30pm to drive another hour home on a weeknight? Thursdays might be ok, easier to write a Friday off, but it shouldn't really be beyond the comprehension that Wednesday night games would be off putting for families, which is a huge target audience for most teams...
That's why every time this is brought up, I say that the Kings especially, should target city workers heavily with meals/drink deals around the city... Easier to get people who are already IN the city to a game than it is to drag them from over an hour away...

and Sydney people wouldnt go to the Friday/ Saturday games either. Perhaps if they wont go to Wednesday games or Thursday games or Friday games or Saturday games...
they just wont go to games?

Shocker for working families and children. Kings have nearly 50% home games on Wednesday and Thursday. Why would I pay for full membership and only see half the games? Who is responsible for this schedule?

Yep that is harsh. I can only think we have to grit our teeth here and hopefully they will learn for next year. On the surface its looks really awkward for many team and fans. Personally cant see the logic in these mid week games when we play so few games anyway. Fri/Sat works and Sun to a lesser extent, why divert from that.

Think outside the square folks, if you go to the NBL on a Wednesday night during summer you get the whole weekend off to do something else, happy days!!!

Just had a quick look, correct, last year was home team first - away team second. There you go, trying to copy NBA and U.S. College I reckon!!!

Wasn't it away team second in last year's fixture also? It is just another Americanisation of our game, may take some getting used to for some of us but not a big thing I wouldn't have thought...

I think pretty much everyone's misread the fixtures in terms of home/away. Bizarre that they've done that.
Nice to see quick, easy calendar downloads, though. Saved me a few hours, that.

"You're looking at the away games. Perth has 8 friday games at home, two thursday, two sunday, one saturday and one Monday, which has a public holiday the day after."
Hahahahaha oops. That's so much better
God I feel like a retard now :P

Perth with 5 Wed games , 2 Thursday games. Had i known this earlier i would not of renewed.
I can handle a couple of games during the week but these are really inconvenient due to work/personal commitments.
Disappointed to see the mid week games not evenly distributed.

This game is not scheduled to be televised. Can the NBL try and push for this game to be televised as it should be a big game and alot of people will want to watch it?
