Ricky Kreklow will tear up SBL if he is playing in the league. Shame he is at Magic or I would have him as MVP

Farrison, that's what I initially thought, but he came back out after dealing with emotions to watch the Wolves boys get their medallions etc. He didn't rush off to the airport or anything.

Congratulations to the Cougars, their depth paid dividends. Got the jump in the first quarter & kept them at bay the whole way.

Didnt help Joondalup that they shot terribly as well.

The only odd thing about it is that it didn't happen back in 2010. I'm guessing the NBL playing 48 minutes was the only reason it's that length in the first place.

As for the arguments about development...again, every other league in the world functions just fine. Including the women's SBL.

The change from 48 to 40 min per game will be decided this week.
I hope it stays at 48.
Some clubs want the import number to be reduced to one.
I hope this happens as clubs struggle to have enough money and to see more $$$ go into developing their own.

The fact Ben Ettridge couldn't shake a hand of the opposing team and actually turn himself away when the cougars came up to thank him for a good game goes to show the caliber of a coach they have.

Sucked in Joondalup. Poor effort by their supporters. No effort to decorate, their supporters were quiet all night compared to Cockburn's. The look on Ettridges face was priceless after the game as well. Congrats Cougars they were better in every aspect of the game and are worthy winners

I am extremely proud of the lady wolfpack. It was a tough game down to the last possession and missing a key starter. For a young team no one predicted would go anywhere they have done great things. Ironmonger was dominant in the paint, martin turned herself into a defensive stopper, kinder should win most improved this season and it wouldn't surprise me if belcher gets it next season and wischer is an out and out star. This season was fun and i can't wait for next season.
As for the men, well that was the most un wolfpack like game they've played all season but you take the ups with the downs.

Irrespective of who wins, i think its going to be a fairly close & competitive match up which will be a welcomed sight. Last couple of GF's have been convincing wins

Goode stretches the floor and has great footwork and touch for a big fella. He can't defend to save his life though, by the time the second half comes around he barely moves quicker than a slow jog. I would be shocked if he wins MVP

I would take Davis over Goode every day of the week

Well yes, McIntyre and Lane are two of the best defenders in the league so can cover Goode's laziness to some extent.

Goode has to worry about playing defense before he worries about fouling.

Buccs have posted most of their second game against Cougars on facebook... If Cougars want to have any chance in the GF Goode is going to have to change his work rate. He looks really lazy

the buccs window is closing I believe ? carter cook will become an aussie I think which will allow them to go find 2 yanks. they could be hard pressed to keep both hussy and akepondya. wunders/ralph may have gone over the top and may be done. they had a real chance this yr but have come up short. well done on a good season however.

I think the one eyed buccs supporter will be saying Joondalup in 1. Everyone is predicting Joondalup. Surely they are the red hot favourites to win it all.

Typical Buccs season. Decent team, not much depth, out in straight sets in the playoffs. Really feel for Wunders, he is a workhorse.

Petrik's coaching prowess is getting tested at the moment.Have'nt seen him rotate his bench this much.Obviously Ibekewe is injured.

The Willetton Tigers just dismantled the Joondalup Wolves in a single half of basketball.

The Wolves, ranked 1st in defence, allowed 22.3points per quarter during the regular season. In quarter 3 tonight they allowed 37 and in the fourth they allowed 39. This is the enormity of the defeat.

Tigers played with motivation, purpose, momentum and desperation, winning the steals count 7-2 and the turnover count 7-14.

Stat of the night however, Scott, Bowie and Armour combined 12/20 3Pshooting. Iladis and Salinas combined 3/20. Tigers TORCHED it from the 3PT line, Cody, Armour, Black and Funches going 100%, the team 20/33= 60%

Tigers couldn't stop Davis, but definitely contained him as best they could and forced a handful of turnovers.

Can the Tigers repeat this effort two nights in a row?? I definitely doubted it, but seeing how much they dominated tonight, they should take a LOT of motivation heading into a game three. Will be one to watch

Can't argue with results over the past few years. Championships, imports and recruiting of other Australians has all been A+.

Farrison Hord Do you think maybe it was his skill and knowledge of the game that chose a good import. If you look back at the women's imports he has bought to the Flames, there has not been one bad one. It is not just pure luck it is hours and hours of scouting etc that brings good imports to our SBL. You have to give him some credit for choosing well and doing his homework. Believe it or not Whitcomb did not just rock up on his doorstep asking to play.

Petrik is extraordinarily smug now though. He completely looked passed Perth (in fairness they won convincingly) and i'm pretty sure they thought they would breeze past Willetton as well (and so did i for that matter).

Sounds like someone is a little jealous?? As Anonymous said he has nothing but praise for the way that Willetton played game 1. Just coz he actually has a lot of basketball knowledge and obviously you ttttjhhh have none. Why is it everyone always wants to knock someone who is doing well and doing heaps for basketball in WA not only at Rocko but also with the Lynx program.

That young talent isnt being developed in the SBL system is hogwash. There are plenty of people investing into their club juniors at all associations, the wildcats have an infamous tendency to turn a blind eye or shun local talent post-beveridge era. That is all.

Maybe the Cats feel that there's young talent there that isn't being properly developed within the SBL system.
It's a tough one. The SBL would probably benefit from something like this if it was done well, but I can see why the existing clubs might not be too keen to be without their most promising guys for a couple of seasons.
