United Vs Taipans, Sep 12 pre-season

Yeah, pre-season. Dennis was back from injury, looking very slick. But even then Barlow looked like he wished he was somewhere else, and everyone looked tentative about commiting to a team thing.
I thought Cairns had no chance.

This time last year United were looking very good against Taipans (who admitedly did not have their imports cleared), but managed to destroy supporter faith throughout the regular season.
