2016 Albert Schweitzer Tournament (Emus)
Australia finished 7th after thrashing China 83-59.
Kenyon w/ 21p & 10r, Zunic w/ 14p, 6r & 7a

This isn't au19s - it's essentially the CoE team with a few added in because of injury.

Not sure you can claim good for Basketball SA..'more likely good for Sturt SA who now has an au17 player and 3 au19's. Any other clubs able to say that arond Australia?

Australia lost to hosts Germany 58-77, with no Aussie able to score in double figures.
Dalton and Mayen Naiboth had 9 points, Kenyon 8.
Australia next plays Greece in a chance to playoff for 5th.

Yep - Australia upset the more fancied Turkey.
White had 25p, Rigoni 21p & 13r, Kenyon 14p

Great to hear about the 2 SA Boys dominating in huge win for the Aussies.
The 3rd kid is doing real well too apparently with the opportunities given and has MASSIVE potential.
Really good for SA Basketball.

U17 worlds in late June are 99 Born
U18 Oceanias in early June are 98 born.

Ummm, I'm confused. How does college impact availability for u17s?
I would have thought performances at u17 words is an entree to a great college. Are you talking "Aussie" boys playing at US high schools being ineligible to represent Australia at u17 worlds? Prom night?
Maybe I don't get it though.

NZ are quality so we need the U.S based players available. But thats easier said than done given colleges have proven unwilling to let them go in previous years.
Anyone know when the squad is named?

Oceania squad?
McDowell white/white
Kenyon/short/glover
Mayen/rigoni
Magnay/maluach/?
Froling/Ferguson
Will Froling and McDowell be back from hoops summit?
Humphries, gak, m.maker, kiir, mading, cherry, Healy unavailable?

We lost by 2 pts to Argentina. Kenyon had 14 points and has been Australia's best player to date.
Zunic had a chance to send the game into OT but missed a tough layup just before the buzzer.

So far we've got smacked by Serbia and we've pulvarised Japan.
Argentina at 2am aedt.

Cheers mayor..

Livestream Aussies v Serbia around 12.00am AEDT tonight.

Probably beneficial to give zunic some experience before world's.
Although, I'm not sure his spot is cemented even when attending the Coe.
A few other guys look like quality backups to dent.

As far as I know, Dent is not at CoE and they picked replacements for injured/ineligible players. So I cannot answer the question.

LC, Any idea why Lachlan Dent didn't make this team? Starting PG for the U17 Australian team and played very well to help us beat NZ at the recent Oceania's.
Can you please keep us up to date with games and box scores. I can't understand that German website

All heights are from the official tournament website.
One would think the CoE would form the basis of the WC side for 2017, however I would hope they select from the best available talent.

U18 2016 Oceanias/u19 2017 worlds? 98' and younger.
McDowell-White/Healy
Kenyon/glover/Hadley
Mayen/maluach
Froling/m.maker/mading
Humphries/gak

Dam.. Those listed heights change by the month.
Magnay was 6'10 heading to Tulsa yet he is listed at 6'8.
Froling 203cm at u16 Oceanias and now 207cm
Colina was 205cm now 208cm
Fullarton at 197cm now 200cm
Dalton was supposedly 6'10 now at 6'8
Zunic smaller than I expected at 6ft.
Same goes for Isaac...

Will this squad form the basis of the Emu's squad for World Champs in 2017 or will the U.S based players (Humphries, Maker, Gak, Cherry, Kiir, Healy etc) come into contention?

Today is D day for both the Celtics and Lakers. An NBA championship will be lost and won.
The Celtics will enter the game without their starting centre, whilst the Lakers starting centre is battling an ongoing injury of his own.
Can Kobe and Gasol with a little help from their team mates secure a Lakers title? Or can the Celtics Big 4 and their remaining big men do enough to claim their 2nd title in 3 years?
For those at work like me, you can follow ESPN's GameCast at espn.com. One HD is replaying the game on 1:30pm AEST on Saturday.
I hope the game is a classic and hope the Celtics can win. My tip, Celtics to play with heart and as a team to win by 3 in OT.
