Hugh Greenwood footy update
People can say what they want about the potential money Hugh could make in footy. Fact of the matter is he was a paid professional in basketball, yet he might never make the jump in the AFL. He was making money NOW, but he traded it in for a "maybe" future.
But he loves football more than basketball. So, I am done feeling like the guy sold the sport out. He actually did the right thing for himself. He wanted to play the Olympics, we all know it would take about six point guard injuries for him to make a spot, so he followed a childhood dream - all the more power to him.
But he may not make it in the end. He may have to live with the fact that he ended up a minor league footy player rather than playing in Australia's premier league of basketball.

hmmm, a choice between playing in a league where even the average players get a couple hundred thou a year, and the stars upto a $1M, versus a league that might not even be here from one year to the next.

Couple of nice marks up forward in that Glenelg game by Hugh. He seems to be making the AFL transition pretty well so far.

With the way the crows forward line is going, 0% chance of a callup, but they must be rapt with his output so far after his limited time in their system. Always a sceptic given other failures, but definitely looks promising. Another year or 2 and he could be in the league, with one team or another.

How did Tom Doedee go, pick 17 for the Crows and played at Aus Nationals basketball with Country Vic twice?

If you can hit a target with a 15 meter kick you can be a automatic starter for the freo shockers.

It's a big step up, from SANFl/WAFL/VFL to AFL level. Greenwood obviously has talent, or he wouldn't have been picked up by the Crows. But still has a way to go, to pay off the gamble. There is a similar player at the Eagles, Cory Adamson. He was a baseball talent, and spent some years in the US, before failing to make the cut and returning home. He is excellent at WAFL level, but still a long way short of AFL.

I checked the sportingpulse to make sure of tonight's games and noticed that both North teams seem to have gotten out of playing tonight in the middle of school holidays.
Have they asked for a change in their games because of lack of players due to holidays as I sure would like to have had that opportunity with our team.
