Both the Australian men and women's wheelchair basketball teams qualified for the semi finals as the top-seeded teams from their groups at the World Championships being held in Birmingham, Great Britain.

The Men's team known as the "Rollers" took on the USA in their semi-final and won 68-58 to move into the gold medal game against France.

The Women's team known as the "Gliders" took on Germany in their semi-final but lost 47-66, and thus move into the bronze medal game against Canada.

Both Australian teams play their medal games on Saurday night/Sunday morning Australian time.
