HoopNation Tournament NZ
Macdub yeah it is, we have a number of SEABL and Waratah league players on our team
Sounds like a good concept. Would love to see something similar in Australia.
Maybe 3 divisions:
Pro: allowed professionals and lower
Semi Pro: allowed SEABL/premier league etc and lower
Amateur: allowed anyone division 2 and lower
Possibly do regional tournaments for the amateurs, leading to state final tournaments for both amateur and semi pro levels, leading to a national tourney for all 3.
Perhaps the professional level tourney could just be the NBL preseason tourney, coinciding with the national finals for semi and amateur levels.
Yes - it's a great tournament. The top comp is full of really good NBL players/ANBL players. Tait's team is regularly stacked.
The event should even be better this year as it's being moved to Tauranga/Mount Maunganui which is a beautiful place. God knows why it was ever in Whanganui (nothing to do there for people that don't know).
