Nakkasoglu on Turkey's national squad
We managed to speak with Funda overnight for this interview:
Turkish delight as Funda Nakkasoglu switches allegiance

The conference she's just played in is not a great conference, and she was certainly a strong player for Utah State, but going to Florida where the standard overall would be a little higher, she will find it a bit different, though again it's not a great standard overall, women's basketball in D1 has relatively few strong teams over all, you probably have maybe a dozen decent teams spread across all those conferences .
Compared to the Aussie alternatives of SEABL and BIGV champ ( which is where good would be looking to play) think the only advantage would be the free education
The men's comp is a totally different ball game

She's great on the offensive side. Her defence is pretty bad though from what I've seen.
I think moving to Florida from Utah state will show that there's a massive talent difference between conferences.
Alben is turkeys number 1 pg but they have little depth in that position. She's in with a shot IMO.
Best of luck to her.

...and/or planning ahead for Tokyo? Funda has an impressive record in her first 2 years in D1.

Andrew Bogut will be on Thursday Night Live on One HD tomorrow night.
