Refs at the Olympics

The refs in Opals/Serbia called everything for the first three quarters and then come the last they wouldn't even call an elbow!

I understand it's difficult for everyone as they all have their own style but it hasn't been a great spectacle !

My issue is that they are completely inconsistent and given the closeness of some of the games I'm genuinely worried they will cost someone a medal.

Yep, that bloke fell into the trap NBL refs do, giving a warning or tech for flopping and then feeling obliged to punish anyone who falls over thereafter!

The Victorian state Government is reportedly supporting a push for a 2nd Melbourne side to return to the NBL, to be based at the new basketball facility in Knox.

With $7 million already committed to the planned State Basketball Centre at Knox, the Government will announce another $1 million in funding to upgrade the venue to international standards and ready to use at NBL level.

The extra funding from the Brumby Government will provide more seating for a 3200-capacity show court, international quality flooring and lighting, and improved media facilities, particularly to accommodate TV broadcasting.
