I wonder how many of these keyboard warriors knowledge of the legal definition of Defamation is. Doesn't take much to track people through the necessary paths these days

Goode will make East Perth a good team but not a championship team. They only had Tom Jervis last year and he destroys Marcus Goode everyday of the week.
Goode is an offensive force in the sbl and put up big numbers at Cockburn but he also had some quality team-mates- Gavin Field, Najee Lane and others. They had outstanding leadership from a bunch of veteran players who bought into the team concept that Parsons delivered for it all to happen. Della, McIntyre and DT were not only very good players but great leaders. Don't underestimate that!
For example, In 2 key areas the Cockburn offense killed Wanneroo in the GF (didn't help that Wanneroo were trigger happy and it wasn't dropping) and it was all because of how these unselfish team players made the extra pass to sacrifice their own good shot for a team-mates great shot. This thing becomes contagious. They were able to penetrate the paint almost always will at times and had the presence of mind to understand how to beat the scrambling defense with ball movement, offense Ve rebounding, etc etc
If anything Goodes shot selection was questionable at times with him catching out hi taking one dribble then step-back, fade away for a long contested 2 early on the clock.

This thread needs a "scroll to bottom" button. I nearly got RSI getting here

Vague will be at Stirling.

Giants certainty won't be a pushover. Don't think they'll be better than the Bowie, Muo and Holmen combo of 2015, but maybe a 6th best team. Plus with them embracing the SBL Div1 comp, it's a good step in the right direction for their second unit, which they've struggled with in the past.
All the metro teams will be groaning thinking the Kal trip would have been an easy win.

Reported on the Giants social media, the return of Jacob Holmen and Brandon Holloway.
Nice roster the Giants have put together, especially with the new 40 minute games.
Obviously a big improvement on 2016 but possibly better than their 2015 team?

However they are within their rights to do so, but Brandt will be 'restricted' if his NBL minutes stay above 10 per game (currently at 10.3).Doubt it matters; no way are they also getting two imports.

am very much looking forward to seeing these 'stars' of the NBL get shown up by the SBL imports. People don't give the SBL imports half as much credit as they should, even a Marcus Goode would make Redhage look like a fool. Tre Nichols, Stan Okoye, Ray Turner, Daniel Alexander, Jordan Swing, Kevin Davis. These are trill n***as. Brandt and Redhage are chumps. Easily negated by opposition imports.

I agree that Redhage would rip up the sbl, he plays much bigger in the tiny sbl league. That combined with his mobility and shooting, I think he is top 3 in scoring and an MVP candidate.

I find it hard to believe that the Redbacks would take both Redhage and Brandt, and also have Vigor.

Redhage is at 9.4 so he is 'unrestricted' at the minute.
There is one 'clause' in the "SBL Unrestricted Player Policy" that most people wouldn't be aware of, and that is the cutoff date in the NBL season where the NBL 10-minute rule applies. I believe it is the 1st January, but don't quote me on it.
If it is the 1st January then whatever NBL minutes these guys play after the 1st January don't count.
As the Wildcats only have one more game before the 1st January, what this means is that Redhage is a certainty to finish under 10mpg (so he will be unrestricted in the SBL) while Brandt is a certainty to finish over 10mpg (he will be restricted if he plays in the SBL).

Heard Brandt could be signed in the next week or two by Redbacks as well! Nice bigs if they manage to keep Vigor

Shawn Redhage is a flog.
Shawn as a player I cant stand him.
You speak to any NBL or ex NBL opposition and they say he is the most hated/dirtiest player they ever played against.
Gives a way cheapies/elbows then flops at every chance he gets.
He has no respect in the league from anyone outside the Wildcats (which im sure wouldnt bother him).
Also how bad is his Sunday Times column talk about a boring and robotic read.
In saying all that Im sure his team mates/club absolutely love him, so that’s all he would care about an fair enough too.
As for SBL next year, I don’t like the guy at all, but im telling you now, his game is suited to the SBL to perfection, he will destroy it.
Even at 36yrs old he will be league MVP or very very close to it if he stays healthy!

Someone needs to sign Carey Watkins to an SBL contract. That young man has size, length and game smarts.

Why rocko always getting white fullahs?? First the Lands, now these two crumbs. My poor old boy Chudz, didn't stand a chance. He's off to EP following Fordey.

Heard Sami off to Europe

Donovan Jack, signed in June with Leicester Raiders in BBL, but was let go without playing a game.

I heard Sami and Kate were off to Stirling, only ones able to pay their asking price.

Rockingham spoiler alert ahead then (wasn't hard to figure out)

Rockingham have started to release clips of their new imports without releasing their names or details.
Word is Whitcomb is on her way to Willetton to play alongside her missus Kate Malpass. Would be surprised if Garbin came back to Rocko as well
Still very early for a lot of teams to release other details as most imports won't start arriving until after new year

I HAVENT HEARD ALOT BEING SAID ABOUT STIRLING SENATORS MEN/ WOMEN- LAST YEAR THEY WERE IN THE NEWS EVERYWHERE FOR THE OPENING OF THEIR NEW STADUIM AND PLAYER SIGNING
NOT MUCH COMING OUT OF ROCKINGHAM FLAMES MEN OR WOMEN - IS WHITCOMB AND GARBIN PLAYING AGAIN, WHOS REPLACING THE LAND BOYS AND THE BIG FELLA PAULS
NOTHING OUT OF MANDURAH - YOU THINK THEY ARE DOING A BIT - BRAND NEW STADUIM AND ALL.
ITS ALL A BIT BORING ACTUALLY

In reference to JB Pillard.
Goldfields very rarely get it wrong with the imports.
They have a very good record over a large period of time, so even though the Darwin league is absolute rubbish Im sure Frenchy and Co. no what they are doing.
When he played with Marcus Goode in 2015.
MG 25/12.5/1.5
JB 13/7.5/4

Hahaha I actually thought of MC as well

Smells a lot like MC

Haha says relative of Nik with apparent poor grammar skills

Is that you Nic?

I thought nick done an outstanding job on sunday as a commentator. he knows his stuff he asked the right questions , he comes across really well .
he is a lot better than other people I have seen commentate basketball .
well done nic - good work mate.

One would say the changes will have him LACK'ing the find a he is used to

The only cap Lackovic knows about is the one on his head. Guy has no conscience when it comes to spending his clubs $$. And how did he get the Channel 7 gig? Cecins really looking after his own

What makes you think teams have to even adhere to a budget that may not exist?
If they have the money and the means to get it, through sponsorship or otherwise, spend it.
I don't understand how you can be mad about it.

Keep in mind Brandt played in Europe in the last off season. It would take considerable dollars to get him.
Brandt was out of contract though with Sydney, which would have made playing in Europe easier.
Could be more difficult with the Wildcats seeing he will be mid-contract. I would expect the 'Cats would prefer him playing locally than overseas.

Keep in mind Brandt played in Europe in the last off season. It would take considerable dollars to get him.

Brandt would dominate the SBL, can't think of anyone who would have the size to guard him... Wunders would go close, Goode has the size but doesn't play D.
It would be interesting to see if clubs actually approach him and how much $$$ it would take.

That is just ridiculous. Why not have the SBL running all the teams. Lets just make it one big game of pick up basketball where the SBL choses who plays where.

Is the SBL restricted player rule for NBL players still capped at 10+ minutes per game?
Certainly is.
Unless there is a significant injury to a frontline player, I would expect Redhage would stay below the 10mins per game limit, freeing him up to play as a local in the SBL.
The two other Wildcats players that will be looked upon with interest by SBL teams are Wroe and Brandt. After starting the NBL season around 20mins per game, Wroe is now down to 14 and is on track to drop below 10mins before the season finishes. This has been helped by the inclusion of Wagg. Stirling (or whoever he plays for) will be breathing easier I imagine.
The other interesting one is Brandt. Having signed a 2-year deal with the Wildcats, he's a good chance to stay in Perth in the NBL offseason. He's currently sitting on 10.7 mins per game. If he drops below 10 then watch some of the SBL teams line-up.

Vigor would start, with Cody coming off the bench. But Cody might be out for the year with an injury?

Is the SBL restricted player rule for NBL players still capped at 10+ minutes per game?I can't imagine the Redbacks are planning on two imports in addition to Redhage.
Redhage is currently just under at 9 but if he creeps up it could alter some plans.

Willetton to sign Kevin Davis.
Armour
Scott
Bowie
Cody
Davis
Vigor
Johnson
Black
Noordhoek
Evans

Parsons and Adekponya are tight so this wouldnt surprise me at all

Gero would be struggling to keep both Adekponya and Cook (non-import) while paying two imports also. That would be 5 paid players before you get to Ralph and Wunders not that i think those two are paid, but you never know.

Adekponya to PL is interesting. Not much news coming out of Gero apart from Hussey and the very late signing of Evans as coach.

Adekponya rumour.
Source: Posters rectum.

Why would be a disaster? He might be struggling at the NBL level but would still give 20/8 at SBL level.
He's probably exactly what Willeton need.

Either way, having Redhage in the league will be great. A long time wildcats stalwart

I heard Redhage to Willo not Perth?
