2016 BSA Premier League Grand Final Wrap Up
Think you're under appreciating the job Johns did on White, plus had 9 Rebs & 6 asts.
Dodman & Davies both avg nearly double digits in under 20 mins per game. I think they blew so many games out they didn't have to play 25+ mins a game. In the GF they both played 25+ & performed at that level.
They also didn't have their best bench player who I assume had a footy game.
I actually think Southern are deeper than Sturt. The fact Southerns reserves & YL1 are straight through to the GF already probably proves it.

Creek and Starling continue their 50ppg average and over half of the Tigers rebounds. Yeah there's definitely more than 2 players in Morphett Vale. 2 others get 15 each, where the norm is 5, 6 pts from Johns and 2 from one other. Two outstanding players but that's the limit of their team.

mens game it was clear Creek would break it wide open at some stage - and he did.

west just lacked some height and maybe not the best shot selection but their defence worked hard and got a few turnovers. Norwood were able to hit their open shots and kept a suitable level of key way pressure on west so they could not lay the ball up.
Norwood dominating the womens comp for the last 5 years they have the key to success !

Funny how all season the talk was that Southern were a two player team yet now we're sitting here saying Sturt relied on too few to contributions.
DJ was OK, but he's not a winner. Can't imagine a team he leads winning at any level. As talented as he is, I just don't think he has "it".

Sorry, yes DJ, led the way for Sturt (18pts/9reb). His presence in offense was strong in the first half, defensively his contribution was okay. Starling got under DJ's skin in the second half. He didn't score in the final period. 7 of DJ's points came from the free throw line. Overall I would say he did everything he could, he certainly didn't hold back, but one player does not a basketball team make. Too many rushed shots and allowing Dodman and Davies 30 points plundered Sturts chances as much as anything. Warbout, Rigoni and White all had their moments, albeit few. Very little from most others and when Isaac White (11reb) is team boards leader, it speaks volumes of how there was too much reliance from too few from those in light blue.
