Isaac Humphries looked very good for Kentucky. Needs a big offseason to start and play some big minutes next year.

Australia was represented by a total of 18 men across 11 teams to open the 2017 NCAA Tournament. Now we are down to just 5 players and 5 teams.
Kentucky, Arizona, Baylor, Florida and South Carolina are the teams remaining featuring Australians that have progressed to the Sweet 16, and with realistic chances of progressing to the Elite 8.

Not that bad since Marquette is there too.

A total of 15 Australians across 9 teams have been drawn to play in the 2017 NCAA Tournament.
Joining those who had qualified with automatic bids thanks to winning conference tournaments were a host of nationally ranked teams, including #9 Baylor, #10 Louisville, #17 Florida and #19 Saint Mary’s.
We take a look at the teams and the brackets as they were drawn.

Chima Moneke and UC Davis are dancing for the first time after winning the Big West tournament, holding off regular season champions UC Irvine 50-47. They are just one of a number of teams boasting Australian's who have earned automatic bids to play in the 2017 NCAA Tournament.

There could be three Aussies at Winthrop next season, worth watching this team in the NCAA tourny.

Xavier Cooks and Winthrop are going dancing.
Winthrop was the best team in the Big South Conference this season. They have capitalised by winning the conference tournament over Campbell, and in doing so, earned an automatic bid to the 2017 NCAA Tournament.

Cooks is a gun and on Wilson, so true, there are guys/girls who come back from college vastly better players but have not got the stats because they just didn't get to play. Playing time isn't always the best way to judge how good a player can be back here because they may just have ended up in the wrong program, but still they can get coaching and plenty of workouts to strengthen and improve.

Xavier Cooks led a number of Aussie front court players who were able to deliver in NCAA Division I hoops over the past week.

His stats don't look that good, wonder if a club has already offered him a spot, probably DP, is he heading home to play seabl.

What's going on with Tom Wilson, now giving up college and leaving Boise State to try and break into the pro market apparently?

Chima Moneke continued to be on the money for UC Davis in the Big West with another big scoring outburst, while a Saint Mary’s duo Emmett Naar and Jock Landale helped keep the Saint Mary’s Gaels well entrenched in the nation’s Top 25 ranked teams.

As we near the end of January, a number of Australian’s continue to stand out while others are starting to step up.

After recently declaring they would be transferring away from SMU, Australian junior National Team representatives Harry Froling and Tom Wilson have committed to new schools, with Froling committing to Marquette and Wilson with Boise State.
When Froling and Wilson committed to SMU, it was while legendary coach Larry Brown was in charge. Brown was a major factor in their decision to originally commit. Coupled with a lack of playing time and opportunity, they decided to leave SMU.

They have been exceptional this season. Certainly have the potential as do Lual-Acuil Jr and Reath

Landale and cooks are future boomers imo

Awesome coverage LC, one of the best yet, great job mate. So many Aussies doing well all over the NCAA and probably many more to come...

Baylor continued their unbeaten run into the New Year, improving to a perfect 14-0 record and rising to the number 2 in the national rankings. One of the reasons behind the rapid rise of the Bears is the impressive play of Australian big man Jo Lual-Acuil Jr. He leads a host of Aussies who have had a big week in college hoops.

William McDowell-White, one of Australia’s most promising youngsters, will not play college basketball this season due to academic reasons. McDowell-White had committed to the Fresno State Bulldogs. In more Australian college news, freshman Tom Wilson will transfer from SMU, following the footsteps of fellow Aussie, Harry Froling.

Duop Reath led a host of Aussie big men who dominated in Division I college hoops across the past week.

It was another eventful week of Division I college hoops for the Aussie contingent repping down under. Saint Mary’s lost their first game of the season, Jordan Hunter landed a half-court buzzer-beater, Dejan Vasiljevic delivered a new career-high, Liam Thomas went close to a rarer triple-double, and Harry Froling announced he would be leaving SMU.

TCU is the next Aussie pipeline. Maybe for the women also...
Albany has been a pipeline for several years.

Is Albany looking to be the next Aus recruiting pipeline? Great to see colleges taking multiple kids from down under. Does anyone keep track of NZ kids being recruited?
