Vic u20 teams announced
Bones should be in that team - strange..

Nationals is always 10 a side, international teams like Emus/Gems have 12. Not sure about Bines, or what he is doing, otherwise I would have thought he was a big chance as well?

Odd that sometimes they have 12 on a roster and other times they have 10.
No bines on that men's side.

True. She's a talented basketballer and her playing in the WNBL will be good for her. And her D is phenomenal, never seen anyone defend full court like she can.
Bibby also not doing 20s. Her and Conti the only girls not at COE who made the Gems, both play WNBL. So must be the commitment for that stopping them from a one week tourny for u20.

FYI Conti is far from overrated. She is definitely one of the best PG's going around. If she is only the best PG in her age group in the WORLD then why has she been selected for the U19 Gems as a bottom age?
Must be a jealous parent who envy's Conti and her succes. Mind you she is only 16 and achieved what she has already

Has South Australia picked their Mens and Womens teams yet???

Some people don't understate the commitment required for a state team. While the tournament only runs for a week, there are numerous training sessions in the months prior to tournament taking place that needs to be attended by all players.
All WNBL players sign player contracts and Conti would be the same. Its pretty foolish to accuses the Boomers of being selfish if you dont know what conditions are in her contract.
Personally I think Conti will get better development training and playing against the bigger body guards in the WNBL then playing against other U20 state teams

One week wouldn't kill her. She is 16. Bad choice from Melbourne Boomers/her parents.
If she was that good - one week wouldn't mean a thing. Obviously fighting for her spot.

"Bad choice of WNBL over your state"
I would expect it to be more of a time commitment thing and not being able to do both.
Therefore, training and some playing with the best women in Australia will obviously be better for development than training with the best in your age group in your state for a 1 week tourney.

Bad choice of WNBL over your state.
Even worse by Boomers making a player choose.

True

^Exactly right

WNBL is a completely different ball game to Youth League. Might be quick but needs to get stronger to be able to manage those women. Never been able to play D either.
Bad choice on the Under 20. Still has plenty of WNBL time left - why not let the kid go? She's not going to play big minutes here.

Conti did very well at worlds in her "own "age group........that does not mean she's the next best thing....it means she simply " did well at worlds"
She is certainly not ready for any significant role in a decent WNBL team, put her in as a development player sure and see how she goes, ...she should have played un20s..........

A lot of good Young women pgs in that 98/99/00 age group.
I'm guessing one of them is the parent of a girl who didn't quite make the final cut.
Conti is yycw mvp, all star 5 selection world champs, gold medalist and currently a wnbl player. Pretty good for someone only 16 years old.

Same person always gets on here about conti being overrated. Give it up. Clearly not the case after her performance at WORLD CHAMPS.

Bibby chose WNBL as well.

Conti overrated? You must be joking. She's awesome...

No bibby either... wnbl commitment also?

Unbeatable on the women's side.

Conti didn't trial as she has WNBL commitments and from what I heard she was going too but told not to as WNBL would be better for her.. Would have been great to see her in that team it would be really strong especially her running that point spot.

from what i understand -
if she goes at number 2 in the wnba draft -
Tulsa
or 3 Chicago
or 4 - minny
