Best in the NBL so far this season
Johnson
Newley
Prather
Lisch
Randle
Jawai
Whittington
Craig
Sobey
Clarke
Ware has missed 10 games so I'm not even sure if he's eligible? But based purely on his 6 games, is as deserving of a spot as almost anyone

Using the NBL formula:
F/C: Knight & Johnson
B/C: Randle, Prather, & Lisch
2nd team:
Pledger & Whittington
Newley, Clarke, Goulding

Using the traditional Lineup approach:
C: Johnson / Pledger
PF: Knight / Whittington
SF: Prather / Craig
SG: Lisch / Penney
PG: Randle / ***
*** I can't really choose my 2nd team PG at this point. Too many good contenders. Martin good but injured, Jackson good but gone, Ware extraordinary but only a handful of games, Caddee good when he gets the opportunity, Gibson and Gliddon the best of the guys with full seasons to date.

Thought it might be time to revisit All NBL First and Second teams as we've crossed halfway and the commentators are having a crack at it.
As earlier, tough to find big guys who are standing out, but here's mine:
1st Team
Daniel Johnson
Torrey Craig
Brad Newley
Casey Prather
Jerome Randle
2nd Team
Nate Jawai
Greg Whittington
Nathan Sobey
Rotnei Clarke
Kevin Lisch
*Casper Ware could well be very hard to keep out by season's end.

It's tough isn't it? So many perimeter guys playing quality hoops at the moment.
Still guys like Penney, Webster, Goulding, Clarke, Beal, Gliddon, Trice, Jackson, Blanchfield, Blake etc who could get going and challenge for these spots.

In fact I would have Newley in. Possibly pushing out Craig. Best forwards have been Prather, Harris and the Sydney pair. Hawks would be absolute embarrassment if not for Harris. Prather is mvp favourite. Abercrombie and Craig both good too though.

Without looking at stats...
Marvelle Harris in ahead of Newley.
Jameel Mckay in for Bairstow.
Lisch in for Abercrombie.
Cadee first team, Sobey second.

Harris would make the list perhaps if the competition from other guards wasn't so strong so far this year.

Prefer Jameel McKay as a big. Perhaps Ogilvy if you need to put in an Australian.

Lisch and Newley before Sobey.

Lisch and Martin only out because they've missed games really, had to find some way to cut the guard numbers down!!

Good list from the OP. Hard to argue with after the first month.
Sobey the standout for MIP. Hope he can keep up the great work, it is the exciting local players that actually sell the league.

A few interesting games played today in the NBA.
Bucks with a comfortable win over the Knicks despite a quiet game from Bogut. Ok, so that's not very interesting.
How about Miami vs Utah? I checked scores at half time when the Heat were up 51-32 and it looked like game over, the Jazz clawed back 6 points in the 3rd before uncorking a 42-29 final quarter to force OT. Heat were up early but the Jazz found a way to get in front, Wade hit a 3 to tie it up with about 20 seconds left but he committed a foul with under a second to go and the Jazz hit both free throws to get the win on the road. Wade finsihed with 39 while LBJ had a triple double of 20,11 and 14. For the Jazz Millsap dominated for 46.
Perhaps the craziest story of the day though was the Pacer's 3rd quarter in which they hit 20/21 from the field on their way to 54 points. They made their first 20 baskets and only missed a perfect quarter with a missed three in the final seconds. They went 8/9 from beyond the arc.
I've got to say I'm really enjoying the NBA this season, so many subplots to everything.
