NBL bosses look to NBA D League, Summer League

I like the idea of the NBL winner playing the CBA champs. I'd go one step further and have a mini-"McDonalds Championship" tourney from the Asia region. It wouldn't be too competitive for the first half-decade or so, and maybe you look at multiple CBA & NBL teams plus the champs of some of the other pro/semi/barely-pro teams around Asia, but hopefully it would help build basketball in the region long-term.

"With FIBA to adopt "soccer style" international windows from 2017, the NBL will need to pause during windows in November and February due to the number of Australian and New Zealand internationals in the NBL.

NBA players won't be released for the windows during the NBA season so local or European based players would be called up for the Boomers or Tall Blacks"

Don't like the sound of this at all.

Does this mean the end of any Aussies playing NBA representing the Boomers at World Cup and Olympics tournaments??
