Thanks Mantis I don't follow the NBA anymore much these days but can vaguely remember Michael Redd going off big in 1-2 games which might've been one of those.
"8 3pts in a quarter? That's ridiculous surely an NBA record?"
Klay Thompson holds the single-quarter record for 3s with 9, part of his single-quarter scoring record of 37, set last season. He also tied the record for field goals made in a quarter (13) at the same time - and didn't miss a shot!
Joe Johnson hit 8 3s in a 29-pt third quarter for Brooklyn a few years ago. Michael Redd also hit 8 3s in a fourth-quarter explosion in 2002.
They kept playing that kinda-defense where they still think he might not shoot the three, so hedge bets. "OK, sure, he shot it the last 6 times, but maybe not this time - better hang back." It's not a coin flip!
Kyrie screwed it for Love late in the quarter. Could've generated a couple more shots for Kev to get the record but chose to play hero ball and get his instead. Took three shots in the final minute of the term. Kind of a spit in the face tbh
