Isaac, there is a very strong link between schizophrenia and THC consumption in teenagers. Medical grade cannabis has no THC, which is the stimulant that gets people high

Obviously if there was any substance in weed that was even slightly beneficial, they would have isolated it long ago and would be mass producing it.

Isn't that what they're starting to do in many US states? Mass produce and make it available with a prescription?

I have concerns about the mental health aspects (schizophrenia, psychosis, etc) but the laws as they stand could clearly use some change and conservative ol' USA have clearly made moves that we could emulate.

Dazz you moron, of all people I'd have thought you are stoned all the time your post! Used in the correct doses and prescribed correctly it helps. We are not taking getting stoned for the sake of a night out but for severe pain. Can be more effective than addictive pain killers.

Getting stoned is not a medical benefit. Sure, when you're stoned you don't register pain, nausea, etc. That doesn't make it a medical benefit.

Pharmaceutical companies spend billions every year testing everything they can get their hands on, everything from rainforest spider venom, to arctic crab faeces.
Most of the powerful pain-killers are still derived from Opium. Obviously if there was any substance in weed that was even slightly beneficial, they would have isolated it long ago and would be mass producing it.
