I think Rampton and Book were underrated and were pillars of the late 90s, early 00's teams along with Dickel, Penney, Cameron and Boucher

Some of these didn't, or haven't played for NZ but are kiwis.

Hoopie, that team went to the WCs and snuck past Malaysia by 2pts, and lost their other four by an average of 29pts.

The modern Tall Blacks are one of only four countries to make the knockout rounds of the past four WCs (along with the USA, Spain and Turkey), so I don't think there's really any comparison between the eras.

Stan Hill could be an honourable mention for mine, but the group from 2002 to now is on another level.

Mystro, no Vukona in a 12-man squad?! Sure you couldn't put Marks at centre instead of Pledger to fit him in? Or over Fotu?

NZ beat Australia in the 80s. Some of those guys deserve a place, such as Stan and John Hill, Dutchie Rademakers - can't remember anyone else.

I'm not going to pick Steve Adams until he plays for the TBs.

Thought I'd chuck this in general discussion for any casual NZ basketball fans short on Xmas ideas.

Basically, in conjunction with the release of the latest web-sh!tcom episode that I'm involved in (won't link due to being "self-promotion"), we've managed to obtain some great donated basketball items up for auction RIGHT NOW on trademe (NZ auction site) relating to the episode!

Due to the basketball theme, we've been lucky enough to get some signed basketball paraphernalia, with all proceeds from the auctions going straight to Wellington Youth Basketball!! Anyone who read today's (Tuesday) Dominion Post may have seen this mentioned in the Capital Day column!
- a Tall Blacks singlet signed by Craig Bradshaw, game-worn at this years FIBA World Championships in Turkey!
- two NZ Breakers basketballs, signed by the NZ Breakers themselves!
- the 1991 Basketball Annual as featured in the episode, signed by our special celebrity guest Kenny McFadden (former star of Wellington Saints, now heavily involved in youth basketball including Junior Tall Blacks)!
