Breakers-Perth Make or Break Time
Bevo didn't have an offensive legacy. Gleeson sure inherited his defensive legacy though.

"Gleeson has never been a good offensive coach in his 1st year he struck gold by getting Ennis an NBA standard offensive talent who carried Perth to the title. "
this sounds likely, are you essentially saying he rod Bevo's offensive legacy ?

On the game: Actually a decent fight by the Cats. There's clearly a big mental issue when it comes to playing in NZ. The reverse isn't true, but Cats always struggle. Just shows the league is still very close. Scheduling is shit, but that's how it rolls.

Gleeson has never been a good offensive coach in his 1st year he struck gold by getting Ennis an NBA standard offensive talent who carried Perth to the title. In 2016 he had a front court loaded with talent.
Even then he managed to he was not using Jawai in the right manner.

Brandt has just as much range as Knight I remember he could even shoot the 3 at the Kings last season. I would try the McKay and Brandt combo as Wagstaff is giving them nothing right now.

"Never heard of an automatic unsportsmanlike foul either."
FIBA rule 37.1.1:
"An unsportsmanlike foul is a player contact foul which, in the judgement of an official is:
...
• Contact by the defensive player on an opponent on the court during the last 2 minutes in the fourth period and in each extra period, when the ball is out-of bounds for a throw-in and still in the hands of the official or at the disposal of the player taking the throw-in."

It's time for Brandt to start, but I'm not sure if Brandt and McKay can co-exist as neither has any range, McKay especially.

I don't know if they showed a replay, but I rewound and had a couple of looks at the live shot and it looked like Dillard was doing most of the holding.

Dont blame the refs for this loss, the call on Kenny was correct. You cannot foul a player before the ball is inbounded it is an automatic tech foul. The rule was put in to stop players fouling with no time running of the clock.
The Cats also got smashed on the boards 46 - 32 . they couldnt come up with crucial Rebounds when it counted.

is it time for Wagstaff to just be benched permantly he is a liability and can't shoot but thinks he can. I would be increasing Brandts minutes along with DKD and reducing the minutes of Hire.

Prather is playing like crap because his buddy JJ was canned and he aint happy. Plus he dosent mesh with Cotton.

Mystifying that Cotton dose not play like that for more minutes. For majority of the night he looked scared to even shoot the ball but he finally decided i'm going to take over in the 4th. He needs that mindset for more minutes.

Was the worst officiated game since last Friday... Kenny was man handing Dillard. It is what it is, glad he was picked up on it. Crucial time to make the ref make a decision.

I said it earlier Prather is overrated. He has terrible decision making ability. He cant pass, he is to turnover prone and has way to many defensive breakdown. Carter was destroying him all night.

Someone will poach Brandt next season if Gleeson continues on his stubborn path of not giving him enough minutes.

Bad officiating is the norm but all you Cat fans need to gripe more about Prather and McKay going AWOL plus ask Gleeson why isn't Brandt on the floor when he's on such a tear?

Not sure what more Brandt has to do to earn more minutes? He gives the Cats a legit low post scorer.

Perth's shooting was very poor, so was NZ's ball protection, that kind of evened out. Neither played well offensively but were very tough defensively. I'm not sure much can be taken out of that game other than it will be a grind-it-out series if they meet in the playoffs again!

That was one of the worst officiated games in a long while but if perth actually hit some of their shots it would not have matterd.

Cottons style is perfect for perth because he can speed the game up. Perth's problem was their terrible shooting. If they hit 1/3rd of their 3's they would have won quiet easily. Not sold sold on the breakers

Good fight by the cats. That unsportsmanlike foul made it tough

Such a fantastic result! Always great when the Perth Wildcats lose. Breakers got the win in a ugly cat type game. Well done and as a 36er fan the breakers need to be worried about!

Bryce Cotton's game style does not suit this team. Great player, but doesn't exactly fit. Not to say he won't make big contributions.

Well after that crapfest I'm glad the crowd got their money's worth in the end.
What a quarter.

I think Perth Seasons over

Ahahaha Gleeson with the board in his hands. That's precious. :D

good fight, tough game

Why cant Cotton play like this all the time?

How good is Cotton

DKD you nerd

Redhage one foot over the baseline then. refs missed it. Should have been an automatic unsportsmanlike

The ball was in play for about 3 seconds...Never heard of an automatic unsportsmanlike foul either.

Nah the refs got it right, Kenny's holding Dillard was so blatant. As it was, it took the refs about 1.5 sec to call it. There's a limit to how much help the refs can give ya.

Yeah its tough when Kenny puts 2 hands on his player and restricts him from getting the ball that the refs thinks it's an unsportsmanlike foul.
Stick to playing women'stennis .

Smart play by kenny. Real good heads up stuff

Refs saying hey don't forget about us
