National Under 20s 2017
Well done SA men, avoided Vic in the finals and in a tight one got over NSW.
75-66

Vic women smashed it for gold, untouchable. Vic men were flat and NSW deserved their opportunity for gold, a tight game v SA going to the wire.

Lol, vic lost the semi against nsw.

do final placing go on point differential if the w/l is the same. Looks like 3 teams will finish 3/3. WA look to have the highest positive pts diff.

It's on, Vic men v SA men and SA is off to a good start while the Vic's can't hit a three.

WA Mens U20s going to find it hard to win back to back games tomorrow with a squad already shorthanded with injuries. Have pushed every team they have played so far, but lacked legs today against SA. Miracle if the make the 4 now.

Anon 509, odds would favour the ACT men making that top 4 now

Vic men wiping the floor with Tassie at half time. Tas 0/6 from beyond the arc probably a big factor for a noted 3 point shooting team.

wa women are surprising at the tournament. small but quick and aggressive.
final 4 tightening up after todays games.
nsw just beat wa by 6 could have gone either way.

WA pushed SA today. They just look like the ran out of legs

Correct, there are a few players who didn't get there, maybe injured or some other thing got in the way and emergencies were given a chance instead. Same for Vic men too.

Ah ok so him being on the box scores was just because he was on the squad initially. Looks like Evans didnt play today either.

Is it 5 fouls before fouling out in the U20s?

Is Reath for WA injured? he was on the score sheet first 2 games and now he isnt even on that.

many scouts and where from ?

I saw following some of the stats, and I am amazed at how poorly the three point percentages are in some games. Like tonight, halfway into the third quarter, NSW is 1/8 and Vic 1/12, how bad is the shooting?

Almost half time between NSW and Vic men and Vic have a handy 15 point lead.
Hadley and Colina doing it for the Vics with the scoring being shared around while NSW are relying too much on Glover as expected.

WA women v Vic women is going about as you would expect and I am excited for the NSW men v Vic tonight!

It's still tight at the start of the fourth in that game Vic v NSW women. Can't believe the poor 3 point shooting (Vic 1/15 at 6%) wow!
NSW not much better at 20%.

Livestats??
Meanwhile in the third quarter of their match v NSW women, the Vic women are in a dogfight!

Cubillo with 7 fouls?

SA men smash NSW while Vic men only just get over the line v WA, so what do we think about the SA men, are they the team to beat?

SA men get over the line today in a high scoring game and as expected Vic women power through to round two while the Vic men are holding a good lead v ACT tonight.
Earlier NSW men hold off WA in an even higher scoring game 110 to 100.

Yes, they are but sometimes it takes until almost half way into the first quarter to kick into gear, not sure why but they are working just not very well at times.

Game one is over with the Vic men getting up 74-63 over QLD. Cameron with 16 and Fullerton 12 led the Maroons while for Vic it seems the shooting guards Hadley with 24 and Short 11 will have a big tournament.
Although lacking size the Vic team dominated the boards, does anyone have thoughts on the game? Victoria play again tonight v ACT. SA men v Tas are up next!

What tournament is that?

A question:
two and a half weeks out from the Nationals the AIS/COE kids are requested back to Canberra to perform in another tournament instead of training with their State teams, so does BA really rank this under 20's event highly?

True, the guards battle will be important. Victorian big guys will more than hold their own but if the guards play well the Victorian men will be hard to beat.

Short,Hadley and Loyd to stand up for Vics.
Short to be best point guard there and could be creative for shooters.
Good clash of guard positions in this tournament.

Wa u20 aren't that good, its there u18 metro team that will surprise

I'm sure there is a thread for those, this is about the 20's.
WA has a huge kid Ferguson, 7'0' or something but I don't know the rest of the team?

I'm more excited for the u18s and u16s.
Top u18 girls will be trying to get into current or future u19 squad and the u16 girls will be gunning for a place on the u16 Asia qualifiers team.

Queensland men don't have WMW but they do have Acuil and Fullerton. Who else will start in that team?

Carter is supposably 6'9
