Thoughts on Prathers shoe selection
No he didn't, he wore the icons in warmup and the game. I know this cos me and the dude that sits next to me both have a pair and we commented on it during the warm up.

I used to read into all the technicals of this this stuff as a sneaker head. At the end of the day a player knows what they feel for comfortable in and we have no clue. Interesting discussion, but when Zach lavine is wearing retro 6s and Thabo sefalosha is rocking in air max 90s... yes air max 90 running shoes, you have to leave it with the consumer who's knows their own feet and skills movement they can get from wearing them better than anyone else. Again I would've always thought the new shoes have better technology etc but when nba money is on the line and guys are rolling in retros, what do I really know. I just assume.

"causing injuries" might be over-stating things a bit, but there's no doubt that when you play a lot of basketball, wearing the correct shoes for your feet can make a hell of a difference. It certainly did to me back in the day.

Are cars more efficient and comfortable than cars from 40 years ago, yes, but classic cars are extremely popular. Same with kicks.
Hardly think shoes will make a difference in causing injuries, imagine the lawsuits if it's proved Jordan's caused injuries. Obviously Prather has an existing injury that hasn't recovered, a professional athlete wouldn't put his career in jeopardy wearing shoes.

Anyone that suggests that shoes can't cause injuries or stress to the feet and more isn't getting it.

I agree with you on the Kyrie 2s, a noticed a number of nbl players started wearing them and then switched after a game or 2 aswell.

Actually last game Prather was wearing some NIKE Gloves. I don't know if they were the retros or the updated version. But they were all red. He wore them in warm ups at least.

The RE releases are not the same as the originals. But how can you expect a signature shoe to always be compatible with other players.
He probably likes the way they feel so it's his and other players issue.
I see David Andersen wears low tops and he hurt himself, but he did wear them for years. So who knows. I think shoes play a part so does, knee guards, under garment pads etc etc. You body compensates for less strength and imbalances.

Stick decent orthodic sports innersoles in the Jordan 3's 4's or 5's and they are sweet.
He wouldn't be buying the shoes from footlocker, sticking them on his feet and hitting the court. I doubt many of the players would, in any shoe.

Is it the shoes?

Wilt Chamberlain played in Chuck Taylor's . End of thread

The VII has a full leather upper.
The X had a suede/nubuck, which is no less a quality of product to be used for a basketball sneaker. The X even actually has leather on the shoe as well to lock down the laces.
What do you think basketball shoes were made of before flywire, hyperfuse or any other kind of knit, mesh or product introduced in the last 10 years?
Hopefully you cool down from the flaming before responding.

I'm no expert on styles but his majority red nikes seem to be more slippery in game than the majority black ones with the red strappy bit.

The retro shoes Prather wears aren't designed for basketball use?
I'm not even going to continue.

You're grasping at straws thinking his injury troubles are connected to his shoe choice.
Your assumption that low tops are bad for big's is also wrong.

Great post.
I love my shoes, and I tend to agree. I've tried wearing retros and reissued shoes and my feet hurt. And I'm crap, can't imagine a pro using these when so much is out there to protect them.
I also think (no science) that low tops for big players is asking for trouble.
