I think what we have seen is the value of playoffs experience. At no point during the season did I ever expect to see them contending.

But lets also remember that the Fat Lady is only warming up.

Townsville sit in second position with a 13-8 record. There was a lot of talk about Cairns' home record earlier in the season, but the Crocs are 10-1 at home.

Prior to December 23rd however, they were 6-7 and under .500. Rosell Ellis played his first game on December 23rd.

Since then, the Crocs are 7-1 with their sole loss being on the road in Perth.

Ellis is a PF with the height of a SG, but he is not known at all for his shooting ability. His season stat line is 5.9 PPG, 5.0 RPG, 1.0 APG, 1.1 SPG. 41% FG, 44% FT, 1/2 FT. 1.8 TPG. He's only (and barely) cracked double figures in scoring twice.

How much of the Crocs' turnaround could be attributed to his hustle? On another note, this 5.9 and 5.0 guy averaged about 18 PPG across two seasons in the league previously. He averaged 28.5 PPG across two games in 2008. That's a huge drop down to 5.9 PPG.

What else was it that got the Crocs back on track?
