I always found Heal very approachable and willing
to have a chat.
There are many out there who are not approachable.

I was taught that if you can't say something nice about some one say nothing at all, lot badder guys than Shane Heal out there, I just don't understand all the hate and negativity.

seized
Not surprised. No passport yet thinks he can play overseas against elite ex NBAers as a fatso chucker. His lack of self awareness is amazing.

I laughed when I heard he was 'called'. Yeah, because Shane Heal still has an agent who is batting away offers lol.

Apparently Heal can't leave the country because his passport has being ceased by the courts due to his recent alleged fraud charges.
It's also the case with Rucker. He too had his passport ceased by the courts until his alleged fraud charges are decided on.

This has just made me laugh so very hard, thank you.

"as if they are tight" that meant to read.
S.Jackson played four games with the Kings, hardly tight or anything.
and LOL, nice one Very Old :)

Heal really has no self awareness. As if the 3x3 organisers called him... and then to make public a private loan. Then name drops a future NBA star who played a couple of games before getting injured in NBL as if they are right... owe and "he owes me money". This guy is unbelievable.

Apparently hit 14 treys in a game last week, so he's rounding into form

Hmmm
Heal and/or Matt Nielsen and/or Brett Brown and/or ASIC joked that he’s / they’re hoping to get that money back from Jackson and/or Heal, ‘with interest’.

SHANE Heal knew nothing about Ice Cube’s new basketball venture when he first received the call.
It was a 3-on-3 competition called ‘BIG3’, created by the rapper, featuring the likes of Allen Iverson, Chauncey Billups, Jason Williams, Charles Oakley, Clyde Drexler, and Rick Barry.
The organisers wanted to give Heal a shot, and, when he saw the players that were signed, he quickly agreed. But first, he wanted to make sure he was ready.
Yep I bet Ice Cube's peeps were chasing up Heal, gotta add some real starpower to this league.
However, when it comes to a teammate that the 46-year-old wouldn’t mind having, one name quickly came to mind.
“Stephen Jackson’s there. I played with Stephen Jackson at the Kings,” Heal said.
“The last time I remember Stephen Jackson was him breaking his foot, and we were about to go on a road trip.
“He’d been cut because he was injured. He was needing some money, and I remember going to the ATM, driving to his place — he was in his lounge room; a dark room, watching videos — I ran the money in, gave him a hug, said ‘see ya later, mate’, and that was the last time I saw him in Australia.”
Heal joked that he’s hoping to get that money back from Jackson, ‘with interest’.
The cheek.

shane could come back at any moment. he never even retired he just temporarily de-activated himself

If only you all really knew he's been training with Jaron Johnson to get back in shape. NBL to release a statement shortly.

He would be a great fit in Adelaide. He has been known to order Chinese takeaway from the bench and provided the Randles return then they will have someone who specialises in food delivery at the game.

Looking at Shane lately he might get a spot in the NBL if it was the Nachos and Bacon League.

Ohh god I so hope that this could be true.
Its not a wasted thread, it has brought hope and sunshine into an otherwise Meh day for me. Thank you , Thank you, Thank you.

Fair waste of time to set up a thread over it.

No, he was just a washed up chucker when he last played in the NBL for the Blaze eight years ago and he only got given that then lifeline because of his old mate Brendan Joyce after Heal was punted by the Dragons.
Keep in mind Heal would turn 47 around the start of the season, not 37 in which you could say slim possibility but 47.

What is wrong with people? Tom are you on a bender?? He was attempting to get in shape for some 3 on 3 comp paying decent $ in the USA. That's it though, he would be terrible at nbl leave now. I feel like a fool for even writing this, so tom not sure how you must feel!!!

I guess Sydney would be the logical fit. He has history there, knows the coaching staff well, and Sydney are in need of a third ball-handling guard.

just thought I would ask, what is the chance of in the future the NBL expanding the league.
eg. having teams like Newcastle Falcons, Canberra Cannons & Tasmania Devils even South Melbourne Dragons
I understand it's tough now but in the distant future?
At the moment it seems to be that AFL & NRL are running the country but basketball was awesome back in the day.
