2017 U14 Nationals
Yes

KP?

Big loss for Rockingham and the tournament as a whole, with arguably the best player from WA missing the tournament after dislocating his knee in the WABL Grand Final over there last weekend.

The future talent coming through is huge. Looking forward to getting down and seeing the games.

A girl there who's 6'4 at 13. Could be camabages height by the time she's done growing.
Some amazing young talent throughout the teams.

Team lists announced.

Who's going to win?

Seven weeks out, fixtures must be due out soon?
Interesting that you would expect most of the interstate teams to fly into Melbourne either the day before or on the day of the AFL Grand Final, makes booking flights a priority with prices due to skyrocket.

Lots of young talented boys and girls in this group.

"The amount of teams going to this tournament now is rediculous."
Got to fit half of Victoria in somehow.

Cairns easy in boys
Womens is tough with Bulleen, Sturt, Forestville, Sydney. Gold Coast maybe if they can Improve backcourt play.

Should've read 'had'

http://vjbl.com.au/nunawading-spectres-book-club-championships-berth/

Nunawading has to beat hawthorn to get in, not sure how that makes them #1 seed? Everyone know Bulleen are the #1 team in U/14 girls in the country.

Nunawading is 1 seed girls.
Add Bulleen, dandy, diamond valley, +1

Looking at waratah tables, Sydney and Illawarra go through in the boys currently being undefeated. Dandenong take up one Vic spot in boys and girls being the hosts. Safe to say bulleen will also go close in boys and girls too

Willetton (1) Rockingham (2) Perry Lakes (3) << wa boys

Got the wa teams wrong^

Could be wrong, but I think it's this so far.

Predicta finger firmly on the pulse, Knox girls not even in VC Champ

New South Wales - Teams that SHOULD qualify
Boys - Sydney Comets, Norths Bears, Illawarra Hawks, Newcastle Hunters
Girls - Canberra Capitals, Newcastle Hunters, Sydney Comets, Manly Sea Eagles
Victoria - Teams that SHOULD qualify
Boys - Dandenong Rangers, Bulleen Boomers, Knox Raiders, Hawthorn Magic
Girls - Dandenong Rangers, Bulleen Boomers, Knox Raiders, Nunawading Spectres

So who will qualify from Vic & NSW? Obviously Dandenong will be one of the five teams from Vic being the host association - Who are the other favourites from the final two states to finalise their teams?

So QLD teams are now sorted with Cairns, Brisbane & Southern Districts in the boys. When will we know other states SA, TAS, NSW etc

It's going to be a great tournament, good players and good coaches at all the victorian clubs and no doubt from interstate, will get big crowds in Melbourne too

At under 14 level, i dont know of any recruiting. I see the parent group get friendly with other parents and (when they see they may be looking for another option) offer up their club as an option based on the fit.
The strong clubs are USUALLy strong at this level based on parents wanting their kids to play for winning clubs.
I hope the Tigers do well, i LOVE what they are doing this year and the kids are awesome at under 14 level.

Poaching is taking kids from another club. Recruiting is finding kids who don't already play. Recruiting is what Tigers have done in this instance.

It's poaching. Wolves were paying $ whereas Stirling weren't or very minimal amounts. So it was just a case of more $, which is nothing to do with recruting.

you maybe confusing recruiting v poaching ? clubs are supposed to recruit

I'm sorry, we're actively admitting recruiting players in juniors!? Whatever happened to having strong, competitive clubs across the board and increasing the level of competition rather than the rich just getting richer. What a disgrace

DV is good but not sure it's as good as previous years.

Mark my words Southern Tigers will be up there well coached and have recruited well for Winter. And what about Diamond Valley anon ?

Top girls teams are
Bulleen
Dandenong
Sturt
Gold Coast
Newcastle

No one will catch Sturt in 14 girls.
Sounds like there's been a lot of movement in 14 boys.

in SA girls Sturt are the current benchmark - however Tigers will start overtaking them in State Champs with a full team and by the end of Winter will be SA's best team.
Forestville will improve and be 3rd best - West or South 4th

Great that you've brought this up.
But aren't the U14 Club Championships in early October?
That's more than 6 months from now?
In this age group, so much can change in that time.

so much talent in this age group.

Yeah, they do...
But they are the most likely teams to qualify.

Sa top 2 in summer finals were
Might change by the time nationals come round though with winter season starting soon.
