Boone back at United for 2017–18

"would love to see a pass first guard like ware back in this team".

Excuse me?? I'd love him back too but a pass first PG he is not...

Years ago

United waited until now to announce the signing officially becuase Boone was playing for Hong Kong in the ASEAN league. Last weekend, in their first season in the league, they won the championship after defeating Singapore Slingers 3-1 in the GF series.

Great signing for united. the guy doesn't need to touch the ball much to score and can rebound. Throws down dunks and plays defense. would love to see a pass first guard like ware back in this team.
going to be interesting how they go now with a good coach on board. that and most of these guys have had a season together so they will no more about each others game and where their strong spots are and where to move too. Cant wait to watch this guy in action again.

Was a rumour. Haven't heard any signing news.

"Although I'd love to see Ware back with Goulding and Moore back as the starting SF. We didn't have a bad team just the game plan was non-existent."

Didn't Moore sign with the 36ers or is that still a rumour?

Great signing, was really hoping for this. Plays for the team first and has checked his ego at the door.

Nahhh wouldn't want Cedric back. He quit in the first month.

Either pass first PG, Casper or point forward, I'm pretty sure Vickerman would be able to come up with a good strategy for the upcoming season. Don't worry, he's got more tricks up his sleeve than the other Dean. Hey if you can't get Casper, you may even get Cedric back.

Very good signing for Utd.

Either the import PG or the import SF has to be a playmaker I agree.

Although I'd love to see Ware back with Goulding and Moore back as the starting SF. We didn't have a bad team just the game plan was non-existent.

Good signing for United, not certain they would be better with a pass first point than Casper, Goulding, Anderson, Wesley take lots of shots, Adnam and Moller can score, Boone could be a good scorer in the right offence as well.

Trust the process Dave...

Next thing you know, Sixers will be able to defend the 3 ball...... Nah....

A Melbourne team that will actually win some rebound counts?

What is this madness?!

NBL END OF SEASON AWARDS FINALISTS REVEALED
As the National Basketball League braces itself for a thrilling conclusion to the 2010/11 iiNet NBL Championship season this weekend, the finalists for several major award categories have been revealed.

The top five votegetters for the Coach of the Year (the Lindsay Gaze Trophy), Most Improved Player, Best Sixth Man, Rookie of the Year and Best Defensive Player awards have been announced. The eventual winners will be named at ‘The MVP’ awards ceremony in Melbourne at Crown Casino’s Palladium Room on Monday night.

For the Rookie, Most Improved, Best Defensive and Sixth Man categories, each of the NBL’s nine teams were able to nominate a maximum of two players from their own roster for each award. All nine NBL head coaches were eligible for the Lindsay Gaze Trophy.

Voting for the award winners was conducted at the conclusion of Round 22 of the regular season, with the Head Coach, one Assistant Coach and one Captain from each team having the chance to cast 3-2-1 votes for their preferred choices. Voters were not allowed to vote for players from their own team in the final balloting process. The player who receives the highest vote total when all ballots are counted will be declared the winner.

Other awards that will be announced this Monday night include the major prize of the Andrew Gaze Trophy for the NBL’s Most Valuable Player, as well as the All-NBL First, Second and Third Team and Referee of the Year.

‘The MVP’ awards ceremony will see the elite of Australia’s basketball family in attendance as the annual awards for both the National Basketball League and Women’s National Basketball League are presented in a combined ceremony at the esteemed Palladium Room at Crown Casino in Melbourne on Monday 4 April. Tickets for ‘The MVP’ are still available by clicking here. The event will be live streamed over the internet through NBL partner iiNet, and will be available to watch on nbl.com.au.
