Avoiding the Australian version of the NBA website
The rebranded NBA.com is so bizarre. It's like they've tried to simplify the layout but managed to make it even more cluttered and horrible somehow.

Anyone remember the old school Yahoo! NBA scores page? Basically just had a scoring box for all games of the day, top stats leaders summarised, was awesome until they shut it off. Memories...

nba.com is useless, never use it
although that last clean link looks good, unlike the rest of the design of the site which is an abortion

Also, if you want box scores and play by plays, don't go to the NBA home page and navigate from there - use this URL, the pages are much cleaner and the play by play much easier to follow
http://stats.nba.com/scores

BTW using that link you don't have to mess with cookies or anything and I've never had to change the duration parameter (session seems to work fine)

I just use the redirection URL directly rather than navigate to nba.com first
http://www.nba.com/gr/reflectIntl.html?gr=australiauw&page=www&dur=ses
Set it as a bookmark and Robert's your father's brother.

The redirect only works when trying to go directly to nba.com. There's easier ways then modifying the cookie & quicker than all the redirects that go on.
Access the official home page, or go to a sub-page directly with these...
http://www.nba.com/?12 (Home Page)
http://www.nba.com/news
http://www.nba.com/standings
http://www.nba.com/video
I much prefer the old website, don't visit the new version that often anymore.

just visit the /r/nba.
Lot's of OC, dank memes and bantz... as well as conversation and news updates as they happen without being on Twitter.

Changing the default edition only lasts a week or so. As Isaac also said, I avoid the NBA website as it's just trash these days.
I've found even listening to The Starters and Jalen & Jacoby podcasts is a great way to pack in some up to date information whilst commuting or at the gym rather than crawling through the web for simple news.

Click Set Default Edition at the top. Choose US. Then click NBA.com in the top left.
That did it for me just now. I don't bother visiting the NBA site because it's been pretty messy in recent years.
In the past, there was a process to bypass the localised edition but you needed to redo it periodically, so maybe keep that in mind in case it changes back.
This is the URL that flashes up when you click NBA.com so you could muck around with that duration part of the query string and see what happens:
http://www.nba.com/gr/reflectIntl.html?gr=australiauw&page=www&&dur=1w
I'd guess it's setting a duration of one week so you could experiment with m or y in case they do anything. They're setting the expiry value in a cookie. Stuffing around with m and y didn't help, but with "52w" it oddly pushed out 52 days.
My colleague tells me he just bookmarks the above link so that any time he visits the site, it pushes the bypass expiry out by another week. That's probably your best bet.

With the Taipans easily beating the Crocs and slipping up into 3rd spot, we now have a Reptile Rumble Semi Final with the Crocs and the Taipans up against each other and the Breakers and Wilcats fighting it out for the other Finals spot.
As a Breakers fan I feel fairly comfortable with the Wildcats as their opponent in the Semi's even with the travel distances. Sure they kaned NZ in Perth earlier in the season but since then they have lost Knight and Redhage and are a far different team as a result. Being playoff games, I expect the final score lines to be pretty close but I'm gonna pick NZ to take game 1 and 2.
The Crocs have been playing some great team basketball lately and I fully expect them to take the series Vs the Taipans and like the Breakers Perth series I expect it to be over in 2 games. Nothing against Cairns but Townsville have a great team and coach and have played superbly the last few months where Cairns have been a bit up and down.
No blowouts in either series.
