Womens Uni Games team
what happened to Mangakahia?
Looked promising in the wnbl.

22yo-Funda is right though. Her chances are very slim with the young guards we have coming through.
23-Lacey, 23-Clydesdale, 21-Wehrung, 21-Wallace, 18-Rocci, 18-Elsworthy, 17-Conti, 17-McLean, 17-Tessari, 16-Shelley, 16-Goodchild, 15-Heal etc

Funny how she is in our own backyard but is ignored. Yet from half the world away they have their finger on the pulse.

Nakkasoglu, She's good on the offensive end but not a great defender.
Will be interesting to see how she goes in a better conference.
Brewster should definitely be ahead of Turner and Reid has been dishing the rock well and breaking records, she Should be ahead of Panousis who moved over to,the 2 guard this year. Brewster will get another shot in uni games 2019.
Woods had a stellar year shooting above 90% ft and 40% 3 pt but the conference she's is in ain't that good. Also a shot at uni games in 2019.

Here is the situation with Nakkasoglu:
Turkish delight as Funda Nakkasoglu switches allegiance
She has yet to play for Turkey in a FIBA sanctioned event so could still play for either country.

"Brewster and Nakkasoglu would struggle in the top ranked teams"
But how would you know that? Bit stiff to make that assumption when neither of them have had a chance to play with/against a top ranked team yet... lol

just because some of these kids have great freshmen years at college does not mean they would be at a great level, other factors come into play , mainly the level and conference and uni they play for in the USA, Utah may be a div1 uni but its a very low Div one in a very weak conference with a pretty slim picking roster, so both Brewster and Nakkasoglu would /should/could/ easily be producing good stats at that level, but would struggle in the top ranked teams. Pannousis has been in a crap team in a good conference so again she has produced for that team till it comes to playing the higher ranked teams.
lots and lots of variables to factor in to choices.

"Nakkasoglu has pledged allegiance to Turkey" - sounds a bit extreme and most probably wrong based on what she told me a year or so ago!
Funda was offered by the Turkish team to train with them - an opportunity that she took as there was little interest (zero?) in her development from Australia. She has never played for Turkey and can play for Australia down the track. She had a stellar freshman year at Utah State with the 2nd highest freshman points in D1, transferred to Florida, done her red-shirt season and is now ready to hit the court again. Be very interesting to see how she goes in a better conference. She is very determined and good luck to her. I hope she keeps developing and dons the green and gold sometime.

Nakkasoglu has pledged allegiance to Turkey.

Starting 5... pretty good.
Wehrung
Wallace
Sharp
Smith
Scherf

Dufficy was quite good also.
What's the deal with nakkasoglu? Turkey or Australia?

Lucas was terrible when he coached u17s in 2014.
Wasn't in the nz job for long either.
So many good young coaches being overlooked.

Chris Lucas would pick the team or at least have a say as he is head coach.

Heard Brewster played sophomore year with tfcc tear in wrist
repaired early this month
Never in National junior system so not on anyones radar anyway as with Steph Reid

OMG the Clydesdale guy is back.

This guy has an axe to grind^
Are you just another troll?

No woods either who had a stellar year.

the clydesdale stan who patrols this message board is turning in some impressive response times lately!

I believe it's 94 born and younger athletes. Clydesdale was born in 93.

"No Clydesdale, yet Pannousis gets a gig, seriously who picks these teams ??"
Obviously not her parents.

I'd take reid over Panousis, Brewster over turner, a.froling over k.froling and mijovic over McKay.
Guess they werent available.

No Clydesdale, yet Pannousis gets a gig, seriously who picks these teams ??

You don't need to be in university. Simply enrolling is enough to be a part of the team

Tupaea is doing a diploma.

Tupaea isn't even at uni lol

When was this released or is this someone's speculative team,

Not announced yet.

Anyone know if one hd will be playing any playoff games or does espn have all of them.
I have just checked the espn programing and the only game they have on all next week is Magic v hawks on Sunday.
Will be very disapointed if this is the only game on all week.
