That used to be the case Joe. Now all of Tasmania is behind getting and NBL back to Tassie. 2 games are projected to be played. one in the South and one in the North. Don't be surprised if there is a team in the NBL after the upcoming one. Plus another one from NZ.
However if the Government chose to waste their money on a Melb team, then that's a fail IMO.

Why do TAS waste $$$$ on teams from various leagues to play a couple of games per season? Use that money towards your own team.
