Joey's Sixers import plans?
It seems like Moore is a sure thing. Probably include him in updated rosters i'd imagine.

"Imports were the deciding factor in last years title without a shadow of doubt. "
Imports are deciding factors in most titles.
Cedric Jackson.
Kevin Lisch.
Dolla Beal.
Lanard Copeland
Scott Fisher
Ricky Grace
Rob Rose
Chris Williams.
What makes the Wildcats of 2017 so special?

One team had 2 imports in the top 5 imports in the league last season and that team won the title. It could be argued that they had 2 of the top 3. Put Torey Craig into the place of Harris or Ferguson and the title could have ended up in Adelaide or Wollongong.
The only other team that was close to having 2 top 10 imports was United but they were hamstrung by one of the worst coaches to grace an NBL sideline.
Imports were the deciding factor in last years title without a shadow of doubt. The Perth Aussie players were probably more open than normal because of the focus of defences to shut down Prather & Cotton.
In case anyone has forgotten the Cats struggled until the second top 5 league import arrived.

@FreeThrows.
"Do you think it was the Wildcats Aussie contingent that won them the title? Two words, mate, Bryce Cotton."
Bryce Cotton was big, yes, but the Australian contingent was also big when it mattered.
As if at a flick of a switch, Martin and Wagstaff started hitting 3's at a 50% clip in the playoffs. Both players were not that great during the regular season, particularly at the start.
Example being Game 2 of GF @ Illawarra, Damo's 4/5 in the last quarter saved their behinds. The Hawks lead most of that game.
Knight somehow found his mid/long range stroke that was virtually missing during the season. Game 1 of the GF where he nailed like 12 points in Q1. He did it but less against Cairns in the SF but this gave Jawaii and AJ issues matching up to that version of Knight.
Angus Brandt, only in the latter third of the season did he start having a significant impact. His back down plus baby hook was just money during their 7 game winning streak.
Not saying Cotton had little impact but saying it was all Cotton would be incorrect.

@Brunson
"They played Hawks who had a 3-1 record on them throughout the season. Hardly a team they should be expected to dominate "
We were 2 games clear on top of the league when the next 4 teams were separated by 1 win and percentages.
We were at home.
The Hawks were missing their NBL 1st team centre after 5 mins of that game.
I may not agree with everything that anon said but to fall short in that fashion was a very low point in an exciting and very promising season.
We should have won Game 3.
"Hopefully one day you can understand Wright picked imports to complement his Australian talent. "
Randle was his star, he was relied upon to create, he had an green light. Seems to me that the Australian contingent was here to support him.

Unsure of your point to that Bryce Cotton comparison. That actually backs up my view that the 36ers need to do a much better job of import recruitment across atleast 2 of the 3 spots. AND that is my concern with Joey Wrights eye for foreign talent! So cheers.

"Dont over do a good thing, the 36ers aussie talent isnt as good as you make it sound. Wasnt enough to win the title."
Do you think it was the Wildcats Aussie contingent that won them the title? Two words, mate, Bryce Cotton.

Randle already established. Played great wherever he pkayed. Randle not back because he wants to much $. Jacobsen not back because he was meh.
Wright was out coached by Bevo in that series. Nearly not enough has been made about how much incredibly the 36ers choked in that Game 3. Wright let his players get all bad boy in the media and it backfires desperately.
Took low risk high reward gambles on sobey and hodgson, they cost next to nothing. Sobey paid off incredibly, thats one example of his superior eye for talent. One. Dont over do a good thing, the 36ers aussie talent isnt as good as you make it sound. Wasnt enough to win the title.
Original post was in reference to will Wright bring in import talent from his US stint. Unless the management have an open check book and he is able to sign a fringe nba guy who is demanding big money already in europe... dont expect him to strike gold and bring in the next Willie Farley, a genuine low cost high impact import.
I hope you are right about the success you assume Brunson, i just doubt without another Randle like performer that Wright can give the overwhelming green light too, i doibt it.

Ah Stud boy you can't help to have a crack at Wright whenever you can.
Hopefully one day you can understand Wright picked imports to complement his Australian talent. As a result they finished on top of the ladder. That core Australian talent are all still there making it smart coaching.
"He has an eye for established talent imo", " until im convinced otherwise its already established players for Joey or bust." Randle MVP, Sobey NBL 2nd Team, Hodgson. What fantastic new talent did the Hawks/Perth come up with?
"Truth is they played the project game never expecting to succeed" No truth in that at all. It is just your crappy opinion. They expected to succeed and they did. They wanted to win it all but in a competitive league these things happen.
"Then they found themselves in the mix for the title but werent deep enough to win a game 3 AT HOME mond you" They played Hawks who had a 3-1 record on them throughout the season. Hardly a team they should be expected to dominate but keep knit picking if it makes you feel better.
"And jacobsen was so good they aren't bringing him back" They aren't bringing Randle back either is that saying he isn't good? How many of the same imports are the Hawks and Perth bringing back? Is that implying the other imports are bad also? Jacobsen filled his role. We don't know what the reason why he didn't get a new contract, it could have been his decision.
End of the day Wright was coach of the year, has a great core of Australian talent signed for numerous years and is actively scouting here and in the US. Wright and the Sixers will continue to be successful as much as it annoys you.

Press? Probable first round pick in ANOTHER league? Whats that got to do with WINS!? Adelaide ended up being one go to guy short come finals time. Truth is they played the project game never expecting to succeed. Then they found themselves in the mix for the title but werent deep enough to win a game 3 AT HOME mond you. And jacobsen was so good they arent bringing him back, and its not due to his $ value increasing! Try again, until im convinced otherwise its already established players for Joey or bust.

Just a probable first round draft pick with plenty of press and a solid backup big that was cheap, yeah, pretty bad!!!

Joey came back last season with Jacobsen and Ferguson, so do NOT hold your breath. He has an eye for established talent imo thats about it.

Is the Ramone Moore thing still happening? Waiting to be released by Lietkabelis?

Just when you thought it was safe to have a royal barbie on Sunday, another extra round pops up. In lieu of the Chaser’s ban on commentating the broadcast (they were planning to use Price Philip’s quotes) I have inserted some of PP's finest after each game – you don’t realise how politically incorrect they are, so please don’t take any offence.
South vs Woodville at Marion
Women: South have the oldest average age and Woodville the youngest. South have had a tough start to the season with a couple of one point losses and Woodville will be looking to be put a stick in their wheelchairs and walking frames. There’s something to be said of experience though and the Panthers should be able to dispatch the young warriors before their afternoon nap and early turn in. PP to the President of Nigeria, dressed in traditional robes “You look like you’re ready for bed!”
Men: Crew Casella and have had a good start to the season and Woodville welcome back “the Big Zed”. Could be a good game as South at the moment have more confidence than a teenager knocking off a cougar. Woodville are putting up plenty of shots, but are shooting 35% from the floor compared to South’s 45% and this will be the difference this afternoon. PP to the Queen, after her coronation “Where did you get the hat?”
Sturt vs North @ Pasadena
Women: It’s hard to think that Sturt could get stronger, but Madgen seems to have done just that. North too reliant on Jo Hill will need others to lift and support her, or else they will be savaged. PP to a student who had been trekking in Papua New Guinea “You managed not to get eaten, then?”
Men: Sturt basically at full strength now and this game is a little bit like the landed Lords of Gentry battling the Highlanders from the North. Unfortunately for the Rockets, we all know how Braveheart finished. PP to a driving instructor in Scotland “How do you keep the natives off the booze long enough to get them through the test?”
West vs Eagles @ Port Adelaide
Women: This is going to be a crackerjack. Eagles might be a bit tired after slogging it out with Sturt the night before, but with both Sturt and Eagles playing each other, I expect both coaches might slow things down in the second half to keep some in the tank for today. West should have won the Jimmy Barnes Cup and might be a little fresher and have a bit more in reserve to take out a thriller. PP to Elton John after hearing Elton had sold his Gold Aston Martin “Oh, it’s you that owns that ghastly car – we often see it when driving to Windsor Castle.”
Men: Another top contest in the mens and the matchups look very interesting. Both teams are looking very nice and are undefeated at the moment. It’s hard to see one team dominating and this is a real flip of the coin for this one, but the home team might have the edge with that big bag of rocks back in their team and the easier run into the game. PP: “If you see a man opening a car door for a woman, it means one of two things: it’s either a new woman or a new car!”
