Oklahoma University def Cairns Taipans 110-85
Generous calling this a Taipans team, really a bunch of potential DPs and young talent jostling for court time, backed up by the remnants of the worn out Marlins team that gave the Sunshine Coast Rip a good caning only 24 hours beforehand. I went along hoping to see the imports suit up, but what we got was a revved-up bunch of college kids playing the barest scrapings of a team. Even Damon Heuir, usually a guarantee of high octane acrobatics was subdued and limped off in the first quarter. Wigness and Stattman were still finding their confidence, and it sounds like they took things up a notch on Tuesday night (sad I missed that). Sorry to the OU woman I was repeatedly kneeinh in the back the whole time, seating at the fishtank isn't really designed for people with a more generous frame.
