WA SBL - September 2017

I would think that chaudier pal may end up back at rockingham flames. the magic would be in the mix as well as there are a few connections down there for pal.

Not at all, happens every year as dress rehearsal before the opening game. They run the full show, cheerleaders, marching band etc. Few seasons back the Redbacks played a scrimmage match against themselves, Wagner posted the photo on his Facebook if I recall.
Wildcats DP squad won by 10. Pal top scored and Hussey really struggled.

Perry Lakes Hawks feat Jackson Hussey and Chudier Pal playing against Wildcats DP's at Perth Arena tonight as a dress rehearsal for first NBL game

Holy shit that Rush wiki is the funniest shit ever haha good find. It's almost satirical hahahah
I know. How good is it? Wahahahaha #cert4 #TAFE

I dont get why its funny?
His wiki lists his Cert4s from TAFE. LOL!
Looks like someone has edited the wiki to delete it now. Here is the original: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Liam_Rush&oldid=795868355#Post_Basketball

Speaking of Liam Rush this made me laugh:

Someone's been edditing their own Wiki entry... LOL!
Maybe there will be a paragraph about Party Flava soon.

Can you imagine if they sign Hussey as well and lose another grand final?
God, I need to stop fantasising

perth = wagner, east perth = mason bragg
would be a good fit at hawks. and he has just played games for matt parsons....

where is hussey going? hawks? or is the chance to play with Vague, Ellis and Wroe to much to pass up?

ADCDEFG: If you have an import on your team that leads the league in scoring and shoots above 50%, particularly as a guard (not a big) then you do not complain if that person shoots the ball. Even if he was shooting bad shots, which he didn't really.. shooting 50% on bad shots is pretty impressive.
He shot above average from the 3 pt line as well. Check his stats...he shot under 20 times from the field more often than over.
If he plays aggressive like that it will open things up for guys like Trian and Ironmonger a lot more.
You don't really make any sense..

Haha yeah cheers for that mate, I was describing the fact that he shoots a bucket load. He shot the most shots in the L last year by far. 20 shots a game in a 40 min game is pretty nuts. Dont think he will be swinging the ball to their locals

Wow how will Benjamin fit in with a share the ball culture of the Wolves? he shot 30 shots a freaking game at Gero

Anyway enough about the D team that went to Malaysia.
What other teams have signed imports for next season? Surely Kalamunda arent the only ones.

The club team they played first had 3 american imports and a Cameroon national player. They were stacked lol

In regards to the above comment
"The constant turnover of coaches in two of the 4 regional teams is troubling."
I wouldn't say troubling, it's an unfortunate part of our game, but it's something that's been ongoing since these clubs were formed.
You'd probably find that in 90% of the cases over recent years, the reason for departing is often work or family commitments, it's rarely performance based, or management issues.
Most don't realise how much extra these regional coaches have to accommodate for as part of their role.
There is the extra media commitments and scrutiny, with TV, radio, newspapers and online all being dominant in those regions, where most metro clubs are lucky if they get Community News involvement.
There is the extra community involvements that come as being the sole club in that region, plus the fact they have full time jobs that sometimes take them away for work.
Sometimes things like the above actually make it a bonus to be a part of, especially when they have on-court success that gets them into the playoffs and deep in the finals, but it often means that the longevity of these coaches isn't often what their metro counterparts enjoy.

Who said it was? It's SBL Select. Meaning whoever applied to go and wanted to pay for a holiday

Hahahaha maybe 1 or 2 left, can't comment on other clubs but if they aren't the worst run team in the comp, some team is in some real trouble

Losing to a Malaysian club is pathetic. SBL isn't that good then. Interesting to see SBL players tested vs. teams from outside the WA bubble. Pretty embarrassing, depressing but it is the reality.

Select team are going to be up against it. Some of those teams run 3 imports and play together all year. Select team isnt that strong or deep.

Slammers are going to lose at least 4 rotation players from last years team

East Perth have a coach, its just hasnt been announced yet

As long as the Suns don't expect him to do clinics with kids then the signing will be fine... lol.

davis will suit their style with having a legit shot blocker at the back of their traps.
cant believe nix has left COTY - maybe was told can only have 2 yanks.
still nothing from lukiosis regarding whats happening out in the goldfields.

lol just what Kalamunda need. Davis is a talent but has issues. Hope they hold him accountable this season otherwise its money down the drain for a team that cant afford to flush it away.

Suns re-sign Belger and Sign Kevin Davis.

where did you read about Nix?

That is quite disappointing. The constant turnover of coaches in two of the 4 regional teams is troubling.

Wow does Redhage sleep?
NBL then straight to SBL plus financial planning full time job plus a side business of school basketball clinics and now a Fox commentary job now plus hammering ppl in a social league.

I do not know him and I don't think he is lazy. BUT his dominance in the SBL last year could attributed to the serious work he was putting in with the Wildcats to get into pristine shape. Maybe he wasn't doing that same work in the SEABL.

Pal had a very average year in the SEABL. Some games struggled to get on the court. Only grabbed double figure rebounds in 6/24 games. He will likely still be highly sought over here, as a league that lacks legitimate bigs outside the ones you can count on one hand, he will likely dominate again.

maybe another matt parsons situation?,he has been there 4 years I believe.wouldnt be the first coach to call it quits after a gf loss.

Notable free agent players
Chudier Pal back in town and rumoured to not be returning to rockingham.
Jackson Hussey has moved back to Perth
Others?

So Clubs looking for WSBL coaches - Perth, Cockburn, East Perth (??) and Mandurah.
What has happened to Randy Meigel after such a great season?

lol wut #646627. He should get the WOMENS Redback team. No one cares about the one and done Mens team.
