My bad, poorly worded, meant it was 1 mil over 2 years after tax, not that Turkey have a tax rate of 0, also i could be wrong, that often Euro clubs will pay the tax for the player, so essentially no tax,

But the main point being for Randle to get 500k a year after tax in the NBL a club would have to pay him around $1 mil, so you can see why he isnt in the NBL and the 36ers couldnt match what he was asking.

It's a trade off - sign for all those 000,000's and play in a country where you don't speak the language and probably won't earn what you signed for, or play in the NBL in an English speaking country for the summer for less money, with a much lower risk of not getting paid.

Randle has had bad experiences in Europe before, but it makes sense to risk it for the bigger pay day on the wrong side of 30. Like Isaac says, Turkey is fine as long as he keeps his nose out of politics and he doesn't put the wrong address in waze and end up crossing into Syria...

There are taxes. After taxes Randle is getting nearly $1mil. Learn to read or understand what the word NET means!

When you take into account taxes in Aus v no taxes in Turkey

That deal would be equivalent of around $1mil per year in Aus (As he would have to pay around half in taxes) for him to take home $500k a year, so no wonder the 36ers/NBL clubs couldnt adford him

Strong word around Melb town that Daniel Dillon is going to be cut from Waverley in the Big V.

I’ve looked at his stat line and it isn’t impressive to say the least! Looks really ugly for the “Boomer”

As bad as this sounds if he was to get cut it wouldn’t be the greatest start to his return to Melbourne and being a 36er’s fan nothing would please me more than to see the Tigers raid of cairns go pair shaped.
