Another Junior Finals BSA question
I don't think this is the best thread in which to try that argument.

Koberulz, you're doing a lot of complaining and talking shit, unless you've got something constructive stfu!!!

Can't even fit spectators thereI'm sure that'll leave millions of people disappointed.

Looking at the matchups I don't even think it's a Tigers person complaining. Perhaps someone who is in a grade where MV would be neutral.

Classic parents. Soon they'll be outraged because there is no TV coverage of their little one's games.

Way to lose peoples interest
an impartial reporter to talk about maybe top game of the night at each stadium. Something to interest the public
This thread is hilarious.

Most important to get juniors in the right gradings so they can develop. Start in a low Div and work up - may be a 2-3 year plan div 5->4->3->2->1 . No point in restricting good teams - if they are good enough have 2 x Div 1 or 2 teams. VJBL has it right. Seen a lot leave because they get thrashed on the court and lose interest.

Don't need a IT degree to post scores, or have bsa staff up past bedtimes. Would take a minute. Don't think it's parents checking out their kids stats, general interested parties would like to know, especially with trainings on tomorrow it would be nice to know who you're facing in grand final.

You would hope for BSA to move to full online rego and payment by next winter season so surely stadium scoring will be in full swing as well ?? You would hope the new CEO will get things happening !

And as far as volunteering again you assume you know posters and many as am I are volunteers that have and still goving many hours to coaching at bsa comps, school comps and domestic. Some give 20 plus hours a week for free for no income. We all have the best interest of the sport at heart and organisations do need people to keep them in check.. and yes many of us have sent emails to no avail..

You just said the same thing twice, didn't bother reading through all the way in either post.
If you don't like it or you can do it better, volunteer.

Excuse me you are so ignorant. BSA has the same amount of staff and the service of results has always been part of their current job and as stated before throughout the season, they are posted and available. For some reason they are not throughout finals and being held over at bsa. They also have promised on a tiered rollout of electronic scoring to have disrrict already done by now and that has not occurred.. That was their own strategic plan over sufficiant years and timeSocial and school electronic scoring has been occurring on and off but inconsistent. If you take the lid off the housing under the score bench you will see the electronics and power suppy is not maintained well and mountains of fluff and dirt built up after years of neglect.. you think we are all parents whinging and having too higher expectaions. You are immature and know very little about what is actually occurring. Have you ever considered maybe the parents or others posting here arw actually right and bsa is a poorly run and led organisation and that some employees are bot competent.. Fees do not have to rise to have people do their job properly. They would not survive in the corporate world and other associations manage to achieve these basic standards at competitive junior sport level. They are paid employees taksed by the govenrment to be a provider and governing body of basketball in this state so they should do their job. Simple.. it has been done and it can be done but the desire to do t and the leadership needs to be there. Clearly it is not.

Butthurt parents all up in this thread. Little Jimmy's game just isn't that important to splash immediately all over the internet.
You want later staff and an IT crew on call to upload Little Jimmy's stats? Expect your fees to go up and I'll be here expecting your whinging threads about that.
Consider how many games are played each night and how few staff there are to immediately update Little Jimmy's 2PPG to pander to every over zealous parent living through their kids? If it's that important to you how about you volunteer instead of cheering for the next not-Lebron James?

Leads back to something I posted years ago... BSA cannot be a 9-5 weekday organisation. It must transition some of its positions job descriptions to match who they are servicing and that is mostly school sport and district juniors... they play afternoons,
evenings and Saturdays... Competitions support staff need to be parallel and with electronic scoring, IT/Maintenance perhaps on call then issues could be managed immediately.. they are not volunteers, they are paid employees and in any other employment the level of professionalism everyone discusses would be demanded..

How come most Friday nights during regular season most are nearly available straight away. Be different maybe if venues were not already set for finals but can't see how head office can delay them?

Agree, it's ridiculous. It would only take a couple of minutes to enter, there's only a tenth of normal games on but still nothing. Understand during season at non bsa stadiums it may be difficult, but surely person at front desk or some other official could do it. Was at port Adelaide last Friday and there were 5 officials standing between court one and two just watching.
Don't need running scores but surely results, even at latest the next day.
Maybe next season we need to do a facebook page to update scores. Would be good to even get an impartial reporter to talk about maybe top game of the night at each stadium. Something to interest the public instead of bsa's just blind disinterest. And on a side note, auto-correct changes bsa to bad, not far from truth.
Only heard a little bit of president/coaches meeting a few weeks ago but was basically a telling of clubs what bsa were doing, talk of regional games to promote sport but was mainly interrupted by a couple of coaches whinging they would be losing a home game. It seems the tail is wagging the dog, clubs should be telling bsa what they want, each club has same vote no matter of size and self importance.
With this apparent resignation of Hubbard, who chooses his replacement. Clubs should have a vested interest in the replacement.
Sorry that this rant has gone off topic about updating scores, but as OP said let's get things right and up to date.

Looking around at the shooting figures, why on earth are the so low? Some players shooting percentages are even in the 20-30% range, why on earth are the still putting up shot after shot?
Is it that coaches are just happy to settle for that percentage?
IMO teams just simply don't practice shooting often enough and work on it, and honestly, they don't even practice basic skills often enough. You see players who don't know how to finish in the paint, no post moves, poor ball-handling. Do coaches just stop working on skills at training's when it gets to senior level and just do scrimmages, because that's what it looks like.
Shooting percentages should really be as follows:
FG%= 45%
3P%= 35%
FT%= 80%
And post players should should be 50%+, there is no excuse for shooting percentages to be so low and for the lack of skills.
