Pun “—noun
the humorous use of a word or phrase so as to emphasize or suggest its different meanings or applications, or the use of words that are alike or nearly alike in sound but different in meaning; a play on words.”
Perhaps an ironic or sarcastic anti-pun

does anyone have any idea about the $ value of the deal

Comment above:
“When does the sponsorship end with Healthway end? Gravy train is over.”
Gravy is unhealthy anyway.

Is Alcohol Think Again part of Healthway.
It's not about what you see... it's about what you don't see.
There's no music used that references alcohol and binge drinking culture.
All labels to the teams sports drinks are tapped over.
There are no other junk food or soft drink sponsors as part of the Wildcats corporate sponsors.
Yes junk food is sold at the game and you can purchase alcohol, but it's never promoted by the club.
Alcohol Think Again is also the reason why you never see the Wildcats promoting a "bar" or "pub" as a place to watch an away game.
Obviously league sponsors are out of the Wildcats control, but I just find it interesting because what if part of the sponsorship is to have x amount of PA mentions for HJ's at games and that message becomes more powerful than the healthy living messages.

What I was getting at Anon was that's it not a Cats club sponsor like life time
Dental its a league sponsor, yes it will be on the jerseys, decals on court ect but they didn't approach them directly. So it shouldn't matter the only part of the healthway brand I see at the games is the alcohol think again, nothing about healthy eating... do HJ's sell salads these days
This is the last year of Healthways Sponsorship deal or it ends Today no doubt it will be in the news or wildcats members 1st email.

Go and google the WA Healthway controversy how the previous board in charge were throwing away money to any and all sporting events to use public funds to get tickets for themselves to every sport in Perth. The deal was dodgy in the first place and now HJs is a major sponsor is the icing on the cake. What a farce.

Surely this will harm whomever has mcdonalds as a sponsor

Exciting news for the NBL. You'd think its for big dollars, hopefully this can at least offset the running of the Bullets for this season or at least cover most/majority of TV production costs.

It's not like the Cats are directly promoting it, so should it really be a problem. But if it is who they going to find to put up a 1mil sponsorship that's not government based.

They are just using a health promotion government agency for easy sponsorship dollars.

are they saying we need to stop selling beer, hot dogs pies and cokes at games?

Going to love what Healthway/Alcohol Think Again are saying behind the scenes.
Wildcats are hypocrites now, interesting times. Surely contracts get rescinded?

"THE National Basketball League has landed a whopper of a sponsorship deal with Hungry Jack’s getting on board as naming rights partner of the rejuvenated competition."

http://www.news.com.au/sport/nbl-lands-huge-sponsorship-deal-ahead-of-adelaide-36ers-and-melbourne-united-launching-40th-season/news-story/b004e867af01f1c7d5a859c7134fa270
It's official!!

With each stated based league's seasons coming to a close, is there much new news out there about the new proposed Undrpinning League due to come into place for 2012?
Would imagine that this will also have an effect on each of the state based leagues and what their landscape looks like.

Some people don't understand subtle humour

Yes because Cairns aren't already sponsored by Mcdonald's FFS

HJ's is only a 2-3 minute drive from the Taipans practice facility

Jawais dream come true if discount comes with it.

Cats would want to hope it's not a league sponsor, otherwise health ways will pull their what i would presume would be 1mil or so sponsorship just to prove a point. They will probably get compensation from the NBL as it would be more than a million dollar sponsorship deal on the line, all the merchandise that has the crap alcohol think again in it, signage, decals and advertisement.

Frozen cokes on the bench instead of Gatorade and water

Wildcats have a deal with alcohol think again and healthway to advertise anything junk food related. Including Gatorade. That's why all the labels on sports bottles are tapped over.
Wonder how this will work with HJs on board as league wide sponsor?

Hmmm...
It doesn't make sense for Hungry Jack's to have a super tiny logo for one pre-season game, unless they like throwing money away so kudos to the Kings if so.

The burgers are better at Hungry Jacks!
