Taipans name Chris Patton as injury replacement
Fearne will turn Patton into the next Karl-Anthony Towns

I doubt anything has changed to make the Taipans think Patton is NBL ready. He's just the best big body we can afford, who's still playing ball.

The reason the Taipans don't want to elevate Tevin Jackson to the main roster is that they are looking for a big body (4 or 5) to replace Nate, not a swing man who can pinch hit at 4, like Tevin. Tevin has a bright basketball future; he needs to work on his jump shot and free throw shooting a lot before he will be a serious contender for a full roster spot.
They may also be keeping in mind his eligibility as a DP (for next year, even?) - I'm not sure of the rules about DP eligibility, or how they'd relate to Tevin's age and experience.

"big unit avg player who thinks more highly of his own abilities than his output thus far has justified."
Is this part of the reason he left United - didn't think he was getting the minutes he thought he should have?

Yuck! That's a meh signing.

@Matt, he's not a particularly agile, nor skilled big man. I don't think Taipans fans should/will have very high expectations. If he can rebound and defend, any baskets he makes will be a bonus.

Alphabetical Order
Gold Coast
Melbourne
New Zealand
Perth
When Gold Coast are good, they are good, as seen in the second half of last season, as long as they are commited I think they can make it this year.
Melbourne have what looks like the best off season recruiting ever, The only reason they wont make it is if the peices dont work together.
Not sure if New Zealand can make it without Penney.. But find it hard to write off the defending champions.
Perth have the core of the team from the last two seasons, staying away from injuries and a successful return from Redhage will be key.
