Is Most Improved Player actually an official award in the NBL?

At this point I would have the backcourt as Cotton, Prather, and Tokoto.
Frontcourt Ellis, and probably Buford.
MVP - Prather.
Most Improved - Lucas Walker
Rookies - I don't know enough of them
Coach: Paul Henare
2nds: Ware, Randle, Clarke, Boone,DJ.
6th Man could be interesting.
A lot of good players now starting on the bench, in addition to the usual suspects.

Yeah Right.
That will happen right after they ask their fans to sit down and be quiet when the opposition is shooting free-throws.
Barring injury, the only way that could happen is if Martin told them he wanted JP nominated.
And even then...
Perth adores Martin. If BBL fans were the only ones voting, he could get elected Mayor.

I reckon Cats will nominate Tokoto for DPOTY. Mainly to help his resumè.

Oh I'm not arguing with you in that one Koberulz, why not have the league take the two best defenders and compare them using their understandings of how the award is judged and then you have the representative from each team and the responsibility to tell Martin or Tokoto is no longer there.
Could the Kings be the first team to not have a representative for DPOY as they don't play defence?

The nominating system used for DPOTY is in some ways sensible.
It stops players on the same team robbing votes, which like it or not is sometimes a huge factor in voted awards.
Only way Damo doesn't get nominated is if he gets injured.

If I were Fearney I'd pick Jarrad Weeks just for a laff

I think anyone predicting Defensive Player of the Year award is either a fool or a genius... as far as I remember. The rules are that each team nominates a player for that award...This is why that's an utterly stupid system.
Imagine telling Martin or Tokoto or even both if Cooke Jr. becomes the terror rim protector that they aren't even nominated for that award! My tip is Perth Wildcats player.

Wow I must be tired, I added Blanchfield when he wouldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat and forgot to include Ili in the All NBL 2nd team

Walker for MIP
Humphries for ROTY
Ili for 6 man (he is already better than Sosa)
Perry Ellis for MVP... he has been the one man in a one man team so hence he is the most valuable. Perrin Buford has also been extremely impressive.
Cotton, Clarke, Buford, Ellis, Boone are All NBL 1st team
Damo or Trice, McCarron, Conger, Tokoto and too hard to call between Ogilvy, Pledger and Brandt
I agree that the SF position is ridiculous and how I couldn't find a spot for Prather, Creek, Abercrombie or Blanchfield I don't know

What does it matter how old he is?! I didn't realise there was an age limit for being able to add to your game/improve from the season before.
The award is MIP, not ROTY.

The breakers have 7 or 8 guys that can star on any given night, and then have Delany also off the bench. Hard for any of them to stand out really.
A good question is who has been the breakers MVP so far this season?

Lucas Walker most improved??? Ill have whatever you are all smoking. No way a who turns 33 next week is getting most improvedThere's no age limit.

Ware has had a couple of shocking games where he was a non event, but mostly has been quite good
His scoring is down from last year but his playmaking and D is quality too

How is Ware getting into your 2nd team, LV?
MVP Prather
MIP Ili or Walker. I'll go with Ili.
DPOY Tokoto, Martin (always in the running, has never ever fouled another player, just ask the refs) or maybe even Prather. I think it might be Tokoto. Can I pick the Taipans for DPOY? They are all good.
ROTY Humphries
6th man Loughton
1st team Sosa, Cotton, Prather, Ellis, Boone
2nd team Clarke, Trice, Tokoto, Conger, DJ

1st team: Cotton, Clarke, Prather, Ellis, Boone
2nd team: Ware, Sosa, Tokoto, Newbill, Johnson

Lucas Walker most improved??? Ill have whatever you are all smoking. No way a who turns 33 next week is getting most improved

if Rotnei Clarke can be in the discussion (and actually win one) while being a one-trick pony, then Cotton is easily in the same discussion.

Prather definitely up there for MVP. The man is a stud.
Cotton one-dimensional?? What game are you watching?!?!

If you can’t see that was an obvious joke then you’re a moron. You didn’t pull me up on anything, you just didn’t get it.

Most improved: ili pretty much has this wrapped up, but Walker Adnam McCarron and Creek are all considerations
DPOY: Tokoto
6th man: No real standout so plenty of contenders. Penney, Ili, Gibson, Loughton all with a look based on 7 rounds of gameplay. But I think by the end of the season , this will be Cadee’s award.
Rookie of year: Humphries, no one to challenge him here.
How about most disappointing season from a returning player? I feel like Norton and Blanchfield have both been well below expectations.
All NBL 5: Sosa, Cotton, Tokoto, Creek, Ogilvy.
Second 5: Ware, McCarron, Prather, Ellis, Boone

Oh sank you

Because the Australian Boomers are playing 2 games on Friday and Monday, as the first window of the qualifying series of the 2019 World Cup

WHy are there no NBL games this week?

Walker has to be most improved. Played next to nothing last season as an injury replacement and is now starting for the defending champs.

Sosa MVP at this stage and Ili most improved (Ili has played with the Breakers for the past 3 seasons ruling him out at a rookie I suspect). Humphries as ROY and Martin DPOY

Cotton is a very one-dimensional player though
