Where to next after College for Jock Landale?

Point remains that if a kid his size and strength was capable of pulling off SG moves, then we wouldn't even be having this conversation.

Of the highlighted supposed deficiencies, I'd be far more worried about his defense.

When someone with significantly better physical attributes and defensive presence like Dwight Howard can be rendered ineffective in the modern NBA, what can Landale develop to avoid a similar fate? Arguably, the likeliest guard skill a traditional centre can develop is perimeter shooting.

There are far more experienced/developed players with his skill sets floating around in G-league and Europe hoping to get into the NBA.

D2.0 are you not seeing modern day basketball?? At the pro level it's becoming more and more advantageous for every player to be able to shoot/shoot 3's. Spaces the floor for all other aspects. Height/size, 'tallest player must play centre' days are going the way of the dodo.

Not sure why you would expect somebody his size to be shooting 3s?

Colleges often ask bigs to play a certain role.

Utah couldn't afford him to foul out or get in trouble so couldn't play 100% defensively

To the anon saying Landale would be a backup in the NBL, clearly you haven't watched him play. Very similar to Omar Samhan who came out and was a decent starter for the Crocs. Would fit in well as a local who can sit inside with a dominant post game and kick out to shooters like he does in college. Then a team who signs him could focus their import spots on the perimeter spots

Hail St Mary’s???

Saint Mary's game plan is simple. Get the ball to
Landale in the post with 3PT shooters all around. If they double him...kick out three, otherwise he scores. He is not going to shoot three's this season at Saint Mary's outside of a hail mary.

He's a good chance of landing in NBL now. Trajectory isn't looking good. Unless he elevates significantly & St. Mary's position along with it, he may even struggle to get a decent look in Europe's better programs.

Scouts are disappointed with his development. The most important they wanted to see was 3pt shot, no indication of it so far.

The only guys who might get drafted in the next few years ard Adel, Makur Maker, Green.
Not many nba level talents are coming through.
Players like simmons, exum and Thon Maker just dont
appear very often.

Not one Mock Draft I have come across have him being drafted unfortunately

I would think Europe unless an NBL team throws a ton of cash at him - maybe Brisbane to replace Bairstow?
