Adelaide v Perth Feb 4
It doesn't say much of anything really. If you like that kind of show try Dirtgirl on ABC kids. It's weird and annoying too and looks like that and you can watch it every day kids.

Says it all :)

Nobody is arguing the amount of wins. The point is that there have been many teams that could have been in the same position or better now but they no longer exist due to financial issues. And there is a lot.

How many teams no longer exist that have won championships in this league? Plus the fact that Brisbane and Sydney weren't in the league for a number of years after earlier winning championships.

At least it seems from now on you'll have some decent competition outside of NZ

Success in a broken league is better than nothing right

Remember that time when there was a basketball league that had been around for 40 years? Where any team but one that was any good/successful kept folding or struggled through years of financial hardship? One team managed to win 8 times because all the competition kept disappearing.

Teys anus would look good hanging from the rafters at the Perth Jungle

Every person has an opinion and wtf has grammar got to do with anything? It's a hoops forum not an essay.
Just remember who is the most successful team in the nbl history.
When you reach our level then there might be time for a discussion.
Creek and co have more wooden spoons than trophies, might as well hang them on the rafters.

Perf fans are more better at gramma and speling.

Timberball, yep, we can tell you are a Perth fan by your grammar. "You’re team" you mean "Your team" You're = You are.
And yep, I'm an Adelaide fan, you can tell because we are grammar nazis who speak gooder than you.

This was entertaining but I’d now going in circles
Perth fans (I’m one); most of the league hates you, it comes from supporting a successful team that plays a style that isn’t flashy and tends to blur the lines between legal and not. You are loud, passionate and arrogant. You’re team will be blamed for any and all happenings on the court...get over it.
Adelaide fans; Perth fans hate you’re team. Over the span of 25 years we have the best rivalry of any 2 teams. In the past your team has played flashy arrogant basketball that tends to annoy us Perth fans especially when it’s in our building where you’re players (and coach) have been involved in 3 dust ups. We will blame you for everything...get over it.
Punishments are correct and I think both sides should be happy no player of any value got suspended.

High impact was downgraded to medium impact

I'm not trying to justify the Teys hit on Cummings, just pointing out that it's hypocritical to say what Teys did was substantially different to what Walker did.

"But no, my point (much like KET) was that you can't blame Teys for DKD's actions any more than you can blame Walker for Teys'."
That makes no sense. DKD was obviously responding directly to what Teys did whereas Teys taking out the DP for what Walker did to Larkins 10 minutes earlier is ridiculous.

"Yes I see that you completely missed the point. Are you really trying to say that Teys was justified for hitting Cummings, because Walker allegedly hit Larkins (an incident where no footage exists)?"
If you really didn't see Walker get an USF for throwing Larkins around like a rag-doll a couple of minutes earlier, then I can't help you.
But no, my point (much like KET) was that you can't blame Teys for DKD's actions any more than you can blame Walker for Teys'. And that you shouldn't whinge about your DP getting clobbered after your team just clobbered a DP.

"What's the reason Teys did what he did other than being a sore loser?"
that's what I am still waiting for an answer about as well. what did cummings do in his career total of 5 seconds on court prior to that incident that warranted that kind of thuggish response? still yet to hear a 6ers fan justify it

"Which player in the league wouldn't react the way Teys did if he saw his young teammate, in the dying minutes of a game, get suplexed for absolutely no reason when he was just trying to box-out a much bigger player? Why is this a recurring theme for the Wildcats, where they think its ok to start shit but when someone stands up to them they blame everyone else?"
See what I did there...?

Joey isn't acting innocent. What he said was he doesn't think Teys deserves 2 games for an incident that wasn't as bad as others (in his opinion) from throughout the game. He agreed it was absolutely an USF but doesn't believe it warrants 2 weeks suspension. The appeal, from that I can gather, will include other incidents from the game as comparison.
What he's saying is that there was a reason why Teys did what he did, not that someone got "shit-mixed for absolutely no reason".
Whether or not he should have said anything prior to the appeal is another thing, but he's not acting like Adelaide was innocent in the whole thing. And he was also very high in his praise of the Perth franchise, but I guess that's been lost somehow..

Um, you do realise that it was actually a Perth player that came flying in and started the fight, right...?

Calm down KET. Throwing a blanket “but Perth are so dirty” without offering anything specific doesn’t prove any point. We’re discussing a specific incident from Teys and Joey. Teys did hit a DP. Joey did defend him for doing so. Your response is....but Perth did something bad too!!!
Maybe there wouldn’t be so much hysteria if we didn’t have ridiculous statements like “7/8 NBL team players, fan bases etc” from your local ferals that are left unchecked by you.

I think the Perth reaction is what happens when you feel like you own the league, which is funny because if Melbourne fans felt that way they'd be somewhat technically right.

They did this to Illawarra last season and it didn't end well, both team's are at fault. No need for suspensions but 4 days later and still talking about it. Bet next time Perth will probably go for that knockout.
Adelaide is a great squad but very cocky and think they are the best team in the league. For all the issues Perth has had and still a chance to finish second with only 2 scores 100% are going ok.
Time will tell for both team's, Perth hasn't clicked well for most part of the season.

10pm in Perth? Someone doesn’t know how time works.

Wait, Joey defended Teys smashing a DP with a second left?? Hahahahah wow, now Ive heard it all.

Anon above needs to check out which way the world is turning. 10pm in perf. Bahhh

Except it didn’t happen.

They had a good point about diving at legs. That is dirty play and needs to be stamped out.

Wright and CReek had a whinge to the media about the incident. How embarrassing

I feel that all Cats and Adelaide players turn their 'Prick Meter' up to 11 for these games

I know it's only 10pm in Perth but it's a school night so please log off and go to sleep little fella

Could there be anything more boring than perth losing every game because of the refs...

You're crazy if you don't want Brandt back next year

The new rule is different to the old clear path rule so why is someone trying to equate them?

It was nothing to do with the new rules. The clear path rule has been in place for years.

Definitely not an unsportsmanlike, should have been an and 1. The ref can be heard saying it was obvious when the other ref asks if it should be reviewed, not sure how that was an ‘obvious’ unsportsmanlike.
Don’t understand the rest of the whingeing on here about the refs, there really wasn’t that many other bad calls I could see apart from that phantom foul on Teys. It’s a pity when game threads like this one get taken over one-eyed posters lacking intelligence. Speaking of intelligence, Tokoto played a very low IQ game, you don’t just shove a guy on a rebounding contest when you already have two fouls in the first half. Him going to the bench is when Adelaide took control.
Good to see the Sixers rebound after the loss and awful third quarter on Friday and an important win as home court is obviously going to be vital in the playoffs. The 36ers defensive intensity is far better at home than on the road and that’s the main reason for their previous two losses and then why they got the win today. Joey needs to find a way to get the team to improve the defensive intensity on the road if a championship is to be had.

I think the refs have taken the intent of the rule and applied zero common sense to it.

Not that the call had any real impact on the situation anyway. If it's a normal foul call Childress probably hits the freethrow and Adelaide gets 3pts; instead he had to earn 2 points from the line and they turn it over.

Loving how salty the Cats fans are here just as much as the actual result. So very sad, but glorious at the same time.
