Gaze 3rd Year as Kings Coach

Don't know how effective his presence is in terms of drawing in sponsorship's and crowds etc.
Crowds high despite Gaze being a poor coach and their last few home games were against shithouse line ups.
With the money they are spending on players and coaches, something will give next season. Surely / Hopefully. JVG needs to be accountable too.
Lister is another Hudson it seems.
Despite the Millions of dollars invested they have failed miserably with Gaze at the fore front of that. JVG cupable of course. The ol Tigers brigade need to be ended.

JVG said on the new Kings team that "Sydney deserves the best possible team and we'll aspire to win every possible game we can." Well Sydney got shit.

At the end of the day, its up to Harvey Lister. Paul probably alluding to the big meeting between Harvey, players, coaches & management to determine his fate. Up to this point, he's been deferring making any decision, waiting to hear the opinions of stakeholders.

I think we've seen enough. More scrutiny needs to be put on those last 6 of 7 wins. Turnaround in Gaze's coaching or is it the quality/issues affecting those opponents? That loss vs United, is that a better indicator of what may happen against real contenders?

Bottom line, Gaze costs a lot of money. Are you getting your money's worth?

Yeah, well if Richmond had sacked their coach before last season they may not have won the premiership last year, who knows what would have happened if Gaze had not had injuries to key players and could have settled this team earlier.

If they keep him, and I believe they will, the number one priority has to be to upgrade the assistants. Another year of Copeland and Kendall isn't going to cut it. If it's Smyth, or Dennis, or whoever - it needs to be someone with runs on the board; someone with proven experience at NBL level. Otherwise be prepared for another losing season.

nah i wouldnt keep Gaze, if Shawn Dennis is available sign him and get him to bring Venky Jois (who he is coaching in japan) with him

Dont over blow a couple of wins v bottomish teams whom the kings have spent twice as much as on their roster, like they should win these games.

Kings won 13 games last season, are going to win 10 or 11 this season, finish around 7th, I cant see any real progress under Gaze

Recruiting Randle and getting Lisch back has made them look better, but they will look just as good/better under a better coach than gaze anyway, so not a reason to keep him.

Marty Clarke as 36ers coach did even better. Second to bottom in his first season, bottom in his second season and bottom again in his third and final season.

I don't know about basketball but there is an afl coach who had dropped further down the ladder in every year of his 5 year tenure and he just got extended for 2 more years

Name a professional basketball coach anywhere in the world who finished bottom of the ladder in his 1st season and 2nd bottom the second year that wasn't sack?

The Crows have signed Ben Dowdell from Santa Clara as a rookie. Makes me wonder, what about the hardwood talent getting around in the AFL or on lists

Some of those boys represented Australia as juniors so there is certainly some talent. Anyone I missed.
