Grand Final Schedule
Perth Fans need not read this thread, doesnt apply to you guys.

Why is there such a long wait and gap for the GF series to start? Tst game is like 10-days away..The semis haven't finished yet.

I agree the schedule is strange. No doubt they want a quick turn around of games & Monday in Adelaide or Perth may not work for broadcasters if they moved the Fri game to Sat, whilst not allowing enough recovery time for the players.
However, don't Melbourne United Sponsor or partner with the VJBL? If so, it would be disappointing, but it is what it is. We'll see what the crowd is like and then we can judge the result of their decision.

I'm in the gold section

All good and well to say junior sport doesn't come into play, but in reality, that's the market you want to tap into, suck the kids in, get the parents involved, good word of mouth, all flows into more kids and even more parents. And for a league that has historically struggled financially, a massive opportunity to open up the Melbourne market and get more and more young people as fans has been squandered. It only adds to the feeling of a disconnection between the NBL and the juniors who actually play the sport.
When in reality you want to build that connection! It's the juniors who play basketball, where the fan loyalty comes from, making the league and the Melbourne market more sustainable and equitable.

Just got my tickets to game 1 and game 3 in a package deal
Family tickets were I think $69 per ticket (for the 2 games) and a separate adult (non-family) ticket was $112 (for 2 games)
GO UNITED!!!!!

The games have to be played on a Fri-Sun configuration. That's what broadcasters wanted. They couldn't avoid Saturday last weekend due to venue availability which meant the Utd game was on Fox Sports News. Saturday nights this time of year are packed out with every league being active. Junior sports doesn't even come into play, get over yourselves.

I’d be more concerned ticked go on sale to general public on Thursday prior to 2nd Grand Finalist being confirmed.
Are Sixers and Wildcats fans meant to take a punt on making GF and purchase?
Or wait till Sat/Mon when results are known but most of the good seats will already be snapped up.
The GF game 1 isn’t till next Friday, why not have GA sales open Tues 13th and just open members this week?

Melbourne Utd would be fuming at the game being on a Friday, the massive chance to gain a whole of new young fans shoved down the drain because it's on a Friday.
NBL still finding ways to stuff up.

I was there for Game 1 of the semi final series. Prices in the cheapest tier roughly $50-$55. Probably will go up for GF.

VJBL can doubtless schedule itself around United games far easier than the NBL can schedule itself around every junior competition in the country.
