Dante Exum cleared to play for the Jazz
Yeah Exum looking good since his return - blocked 7’ Marjanovic then went coast to coast for a layup v Clippers today!

‘Seriously, can people use some intellect, context and a modicum of patience before sprouting off opinion’
I think your asking a bit too much of many anonymous and some non anonymous hoops posters.
Another good game by Exum today. 14pts, 5ast and 3reb in 14 minutes and looked good out there. This is after his 21 points in 27 mins in the previous game. Hitting some form at the right time of the season.

The "bust" just keeps getting better as he returns from injury. Gee the Quin Snyder must have no idea what talent is, how to use it!? Why does he even bother giving Exum time?
Seriously, can people use some intellect, context and a modicum of patience before sprouting off opinion.
Here are Exum's stats in his 9 games post a 4.5 month injury lay off up until half time of today's games:
14.5mins, 57%fg, 40% 3pt, 86% ft, 1.5rbs, 2.5asts, 8.3pts.

I watched this game and I must say I am quickly jumping on the Jazz bandwagon. They play an entertaining style of team basketball, are extremely well coached, have some exciting young talent and obviously a strong Aussie connection with Ingles being a major part of their lineup and exum hopefully developing. It was also good to see Joe stand up for his team mates in the scuffle that occurred - you can tell the team bond is very strong. You also have to love an underdog - most people thought after losing Hayward they were never going to be in the playoff picture but they made the right move to get Mitchell who will likely finished second in ROY voting and is probably a future star.
Quin Snyder also in my opinion should be coach of the year if the Jazz make the playoffs which is highly likely. He has got Rubio playing the best ball of his career currently as is Gobert who has developed very nicely with Snyder at the helm. He also has helped Joe Ingles turn from being a player unable to make an NBA roster into a starter making a huge all round contribution. Crowder is also back to the form he showed with the Celtics since coming across from the Cavs. Snyder clearly seems to develop his players very well and getsthe maximum out of them. It’s a great situation for Exum to be in and if he remains injury free, I still think he could be a very good NBA player.

The Shaq part was mainly in college re: Oden, but when he did manage to stay healthy for chunks of time he did show some flashes of that again.

Oden never looked anything close to Shaq even when healthy. Andrew Bogut maybe but not Shaq.

The pick was a bust for the Blazers in retrospect, but do people really call Oden a bust? When he was healthy he looked somewhere between Shaq and KAT.

"Dante is 4th in line at Utah...when Raul Neto is ahead of you on the depth chart your not gonna be in the league much longer."
He's only behind Neto because he has been injured all season. He has a lot of potential compared to Neto and could still reach it if he is given the chance.

Anon - Had he gone to college he would have likely still been injury prone and never signed a $16 mil contract...

Updated the topic title.
The Jazz next play Phoenix which might be a chance to give him a run.
Utah are level with the Spurs, just edging them for 8th spot in the West. Also level with the Clippers who have them on percentage currently.

Bogut will be back in the NBL Dante has years left in the NBA

Dante has to be classified as bust now, obviously injury problems, might be picked up elsewhere in off season but strictly as backup. Should he have gone to college and improved there or were the holes in his game force them to hide him and become the mystery man who was a all or nothing pick.

Not anymore, been recalled to the jazz.
