Re. How can they lose by 35pts to Kevin Davis and the Suns?
Davis is just doing what you pay a big import to do.
Viskovich has been a good young recruit averaging 15pts a game & the other starters in Horn,Diaz,Blanchett have been making good even contributions.
The young bench players especially Drown have been holding their own & with the imminent addition of Belger and once Timms gets the rustiness out, they will take it up to the top 4 teams and they have beaten 3 of the teams above them and took it up to the Tigers.Cannot afford to have lapses like against the Giants if they want to finish in the 5-8 spots. Wolves away this week will be a big test.

what a great win by the Mandurah magic men . they are a team that will be up and down a little bit all season but have been in most games .
credit to the coach aaron trahair for bringing this squad together after a lot of changes from the year before. I don't think people are giving credit to trahair.
they will continue to surprise throughout the season, they are all fit as well know after a few recent injuries.
will worry east perth and the giants in the next 2 games .

Near triple-double for Hire as well vs his old mob, 7/10/10. Josh Ritchart is a beast

27 rebounds (!!) for Brian Voelkel vs Cockburn. Added 11 assists and six points

garbage bench killed the Giants tonight. All the starters did well. Holmen was forcing everything in his return game. Cummings is the real deal. Purser with a near triple-double, should have had 8 or 9 assists but gimmies were missed

With Salinas, Iliadis and Huntington missing, the Wolves suited up 9 local kids, 2 imports and a South Australian son of a former Wolves Gun and pumped East Perth last night with nobody playing in excess of 28 minutes!!
So much for the Wolves perceived lack of local player development?
In other news, The Former Mayor of Wanneroo finally gets to face off against his old constituents that he led to the 2011 Holy Grail tonight, should be a cracker of a game!!

Holmen will tear the Giants a new one

Cockburns import is injured, took a knock to the head last week.

3X3 IS AN OLYMPIC SPORT!
IF SOME PLAYERS WANT TO TRY POLAY THERE WE SHOULD SUPPORT THEM NOT CUT THEM DOWN!
SHAME ON ALL YOU NEGATIVE BLOG BOIZ OUT THERE!

I've referreed in every state competition and as far as I've seen it goes.
SEABL
QBL
BIG V
WARATAH LEAGUE//SBL (EQUAL)
It's just how it is.

Give up trying to say the modern SBL will produce Olympians in basketball. The only way SBLers will get a look into is through 3x3 qualification. Move on.

SBL players who competed in 3x3 qualification = have a chance at the Olympics.
SBL players who just play SBL = NO CHANCE at making the Olympics.
Simples.

None of them DIRECTLY went to the Olympics due to the SBL. They were NBL players playing SBL on the side/when young. Way to miscontrue the argument.

whens vigor arriving for the redbacks ? they will be real tough when he comes on board

When is Earnest Ross arriving? The Buccs will be real tough with him on board

Impressive live stream from Willetton with Tigers vs Suns. Impressive production value with action replays etc

Well der, thanks for pointing out the obvious. What you missed is there's more potential than playing SBL where you have zero chance of going from there to the Olympics. You're slow.

You are talking a budget of near on $500k just for a mens SEABL team.. taking into account the SEABL salary cap is about 120k (is this right?)
Plus flights for 15 odd people every second week.

If Wolves moved to SEABL obviously the players would need to be paid more to make it worth travelling east every second week.

"hahaha Potentially representing your country?
One minute SBL is useless blah blah but now the SBL players are going to present Australia at the olympics.
I cant keep up!"
Are you dumb? The 3x3 tourney SBL players entered during your precious season may potentially result in Olympic representation in 3x3 basketball. Something which will never happen playing SBL basketball. Accept it and move on.

LOL Are you joking?
Forgetting the Wolves as the team you have chosen to talk about... what unpaid players are signing up for a flight east every second week? No thanks

Oh how sarcastic of you. My turn.
Yes, because the SBL is sooooo much more important than potentially representing your country at the Olympic Games.

ROCKIINGHAM AND WILLETON GETTING 2 IMPORTS ARRIVING IN THE WSBL.
I WOULD BE PUTTING THEM IN CACULATIONS KNOW.
1. LAKESIDE- theres to lose
2. ROCKINGHAM- 2 studs. quality role players
3. PERTH- have the MVP in standish
4. WILLETON- size experience 2 imports
5. KALAMUNDA- size and alex c
6. STIRLING- throns girls coming
7.JOONDALUP- experienced
8. PERRY LAKES- will come home hard
9. MANDURAH- no size, no boag
10. COCKBURN- scrappy , inconsistent
11. S/W SLAMMERS- underachievers with that squad
12. EAST PERTH- rebuilding ,good work
MVP - Standish
MIP - denehey
COTY - mansfield

Which is now an Olympic sport. 3x3 is a qualifying tournament to the Olympics, SBL qualifies you to diddly squat, even SBLers rarely get to the NBL now.

make another thread, sick and tired of the same debate about which league is better than the others.
having played in 3 of the above leagues mentioned there is nothing between any of them.
its a pointless argument.

That's how deluded SBL supporters are. Their SBL is more important than FIBA qualficiation. Funny.

Can't be too far off SEABL if Tre Nichols is currently second leading scorer in the comp this season and Rhys Vague is averaging more than he did last year in the SBL...

"But seriously you lot take your SBL way too extremely."
Exactly. I think being so far away from the east coast people in WA forget that SBL isn't even second tier - you have NBL then SEABL and then the rest.

Bunbury - TRASH
Kalamunda - TRASH
Kalgoorlie - TRASH
Media Coverage - TRASH
Streaming online - TRASH
SBL - TRASH

The 3x3 was streamed online via NBL - so that alone puts this 'mickey mouse comp' ahead of this bum SBL league that can't even put up highlights.
But seriously you lot take your SBL way too extremely. Ask half the people playing in the league and they couldn't tell you who won the SBL in 2001, 2010 or 2014. Heck they probably couldn't tell you who was in it last year. Players who play in the SBL do so cause they love playing basketball. Coaches and players take holidays during the season cause they know its not that serious.
You guys need to chill out. If a player hurt himself in a national 3x3 comp then relax - no different that him hurting himself at work seeing how is a semi-pro league and most of these guys have day jobs.

Lol if Cummings can play point then Smith can do that too. Neither them are PG’s. Would argue Cummings is far less likely to pass as well.

cummings is playing as a point. smith is a shooting guard/small forward. your argument is mute

Smith goes from very very solid SBL starter to bench role behind cummings as Parsons recruits over him and he should not play in a national event???
Dumbass.

Purser and Garlepp just lost in the 3x3 Pro Hustle final against NBL players Crawford, Petrie and Kendle. Von Hoffe was big for them; Ryan Smith got injured in the semi-final.

Slammers with Voelkel showing improvement.. only lost by 40 last night. I get that they are rebuilding but does that coach have even the slightest clue about basketball? They look lost and sorry last night. Surely when rebuilding you need a coach that can teach the game and surely to teach the game one must first know a thing or two!

Doccy has a couple of matchsticks at her disposal. Losing Donovan and Kautsky was a big hit. No Mia Satie either. Nat wont be back until mid-May. They'll go from champs to wooden spoon for sure

how is Jess Byrnes an SBL ref? damn she was awful tonight in the women's hawks vs senators game

Truth be told I'm a Perth supporter. You happy now?

Hire flopped, ROFL I didn't know Monday night was stand-up night at Lakeside now. You guys go too far with the entertainment! Next thing you will tell us Prue is going to score double digits next week! To silly anon no 2, Hayden shot, released the ball then made contact with Hire resulting in a pushing foul being called and being in the team foul bonus situation, sending Hire to the line to ice the game. Instead of blaming the refs for the game, maybe you could blame individual shooters who went 4/16 from outside. Sure, he is a one trick pony so that's all he can really do but it also seems more logical than blaming a call which was there if you weren't wearing your purple-tinted glasses so hard. Its Basketball people, there has to be a winner and a loser. Sometimes its just not your day

Does anyone know about lakesides new signing- Bryan Michaels? Obviously with Alexander and Shervill coming back they look to be a very competitive

Yes. I don't support either club but support basketball. Is that hard for you to understand there mr salty churchgoer

Greg played good defense, stood in front of Hayden and took the offensive foul. No difference if it was in the first three seconds or the last - was there to be called and it was correctly done so. Given the borderline manslaughter assault that Lakeside were trying to pass off as defense on him on the post, i call that karma. From a neutral supporter though it was a fantastic game i agree. Some quality shooting from McKenzie and Ritchart. Almost makes me want to travel down to Rockingham for the rematch later in the season. Was that their new signing Washington on the bench yesterday? He made Hite look small - crikey moses

Redbacks have no depth whatsoever. If one or two of their starters are off, they are done. Nelson will 100% not be back in a Redbacks uniform. Vigor can't grab a rebound to save his life, having roberts and barrow will help his game. He can float around on the perimeter more.
