Vandy is probably one of the best grass roots level administrators is Australia. He’s turned a sinking ship in Townsville around in the few years he’s been there. The QBL program is now the best in Qld and everyone is scrambling to emulate what he’s doing. I know our club in Brisbane is trying to copy what he has done in Townsville. He seems to be able to recruit top shelf talent & knows the game well enough to construct rosters the right way.
Townsville juniors also seem to be once again the dominant club in our state. I watched Vandy coach an u16 boys teams on the Gold Coast to a state champs gold medal. Did a hell of a job with his team.
From memory he won some awards from Basketball Qld last year as well? Best administrator maybe?
