Goulding re-signs with United for two years
Will Melbourne bring in a 1, 4, and 5 in now as it seems Wesley is gone or stick to 1,3,5 and try Barlow. Moller through the 4 plus Moller having time in the 3 A’s well.

Love him or hate him (consensus seems to be to hate), this is a good signing for Melbourne. Retains a familiar face for fans, knows the Melbourne system, fresh off a championship. Would be a few steps back if they lost him and had to find a similar local.
Can see Boone returning, Felix replacing Prather, and Ware demanding a little too much.

Started a fair few last season, including the semi finals while Prather found his touch. Played the team role as required last season as all United players did.

If Melbourne don’t get a recognised experienced Australian 4, they’ll bring in imports 1,4, and 5 with Moller covering the 3.
Import- adnam
Goulding- Hooley
Moller- vonhof
Import-Smith-Milner
Import-Pledger
Barlow covering the 2.3 and 4 spots.
Think they’ll try and spend a lot less this season but get real good imports. Hopefully Boone for starters.

PG - Import - Adnam
SG - Goulding - Dillon/Hooley
SF - Import - Moller
PF - Jois - Barlow - Tohi
C - Import - Alex Pledger

Great signing.
Goulding remains a marquee Aussie.
His scoring has dropped off but I think he's evolved into playing the right role that was required of him in this current team. His all around game, defense and play making have improved. He now looks like someone at the top of his game, relaxed and mature on court.
Of all the well credentialed local shooting guards- Sobey, Gliddon, Lisch- Goulding was clearly the pick of the bunch this year. Glad he's returning.
Where is United at though? Rumours suggest Wesley's out the door and they missed out on Nick Kay as a replacement. To successfully defend their title against the likes of Adelaide, Perth and Sydney they'll need a strong import trio- like Ware, Prather, Boone- and add more Aussie talent to accompany Goulding.
Who's left? Brock Motum? What about college returnees- are any good enough to make an immediate impact- starting 5 or 6th man level?

Funnily enough he was one player that actually was on $400K per year but that was his last contract that just expired.

It took him a while to get back to full match condition after this early season operation.

Yeah, 14.8 PPG was his average for the season. Surely wouldn't be numbers to gloat over for a player like him if they were cherry picked. Should've intro'ed the stats and then finished the sentence talking about him lifting over the season.

Or maybe I misread and they prefaced average stats by including that he stepped up in the second half?

"Captaining Melbourne to their first NBL Championship as United, Goulding stepped up in the second half of the season averaging 14.8ppg and 2.5apg in 2017-18."
Wow, did they really just cherry pick stats for part of the season? LOL, that is hilarious.

Please be advised that this weekend's game was shifted forward to 4pm at some point and the NBL have sent out a reminder. Don't forget!
